Buy 2021 on lot or wait for 2022 order

Another dealership just called and said they have a 2021 Tremor White on their lot. I have a 2022 black Tremor on order at another dealership I ordered on Dec 5 and who know how long that wait will be.

The differences is the white has Utility bed package, the black has spray in bedliner plus the graphics striping. Color is not a big deal between white /black. I'm thinking of get me this truck now finally since there are no major updated between 2021 & 2022. thoughts?

As far as color goes…I owned a black vehicle once. Once. Lol. It’s a great color but sooo hard to keep clean and “swirl” free.

Actually the earlier the year on these trucks the more you get with them. Every year they trim off more of the standard options. Then comes shortages. That only seems to be getting worse! Bird in the hand buddy!

I wouldn't get black unless I could garage it, but this one looked sweet. I actually looked at all the pics, and I have a white supercab FX4. Wish Ford made a supercab tremor. Its 75 miles from your zip. Dealer trade?

I would get what is available and work the deal hard. Unless you are waiting for the new body I wouldn’t order.

I wish that too, a Scab Tremor would be amazing. This is the nearest I've seen, from some dealer in Kansas, but it's mainly cosmetic I think.

if what you would be happy with is on the lot then go for it. with all the issues with supply stuff and back orders a 2022 ordered truck may end up being a 2023 lol. get while gettin is good as they say. besides on lot you can always work a deal on price. they want to move inventory.

I agree with the others. Get what's on the lot. Same truck, you like the color, add whatever few items it doesn't have that you ordered on the black 2022.

Thanks everyone for you opinions!. I did buy the 2021 Tremor on the lot tonight. My $2000 deposit on my ordered one has already been refunded by the other dealer. So tired of waiting :-(

The markup is not worth it, personally. Every Ranger (4) I saw on the lot had a $2k markup with the only Tremor having a $2500 markup. They were not going to budge much on them. Maybe like $1k.

I test drove the Tremor and they wanted me to purchase it. Between the markup and 2 other options I wasn't interested in, it was at least $4k more, plus the extra taxes for higher price truck.

If someone can wait, like myself, I have no problem with placing an order and waiting. Everyone's circumstances are different so I totally get it if someone needs a vehicle today and can't wait.

Man, good call. Who knows how long it could have been pushed out. I love my black but I do need to care for it a little more than our gray vehicle. Really I just use chemical bro after wash spray detailer. I am in Vegas and nothing stays clean out here but that seems to make washes a little easier.
