Another dealership just called and said they have a 2021 Tremor White on their lot. I have a 2022 black Tremor on order at another dealership I ordered on Dec 5 and who know how long that wait will be.

The differences is the white has Utility bed package, the black has spray in bedliner plus the graphics striping. Color is not a big deal between white /black. I'm thinking of get me this truck now finally since there are no major updated between 2021 & 2022. thoughts?
My suggestion:
If you want to build your own, color choices, options, etc., then order it. See: *
If you are flexible and can find one on a lot...go for it while they are available.
*: You must know that the Bronco is also built at MAP-same plant as the Ranger. Bronco builds are ramping up and the ratio of Broncos built over Rangers at the Factory will be higher than last year. The plan 18 months ago was 60% Broncos and 40% Rangers. IMO....it will be less Rangers than that. My Ranger last year came to me in 3 months. For 2022...expect a much longer wait for orders.

I'm tossing this idea around myself now. Found one at the same dealer I ordered a 2022 from. Obviously no Production Date yet. So I see they have a 2021, different color. They applied a Dealer discount and it's a few hundred more than my '22 order.

MSRP on the '21 is lower than the '22 but the sale price is a few hundred more on the '21. Suppose it doesn't hurt to get more details. Or wait and see if it's on the lot by end of Feb and try to negotiate the "end of the month sale deal". No idea what's going on with Ford and their plants at the moment. But if I wait, which I have no problem doing, it'll give me a larger down payment. Decisions decisions ?

There are deals to be had, you just have to look. I got 4400 off my Ranger.

Also if you aren't in a huge rush, join the mustang club and get xplan after 90 days.

My '22 that I ordered, I got 4% below invoice price.

The '21 they have on their lot is discounted below MSRP but still slightly higher (like $700) from the '22 I ordered.

What's the X-Plan discount amount?

I don't know the numbers on X-Plan, maybe someone else can chime in.

Do you have a time estimate on the 2022?

Also do you have signed, FORMAL paperwork on the 22, so the dealer doesn't F you when it arrives?

A personal time estimate? Technically do not need the truck anytime. I'd like to have something by summer.

As far as formal document, no, just email and personal conversation at the dealer. If they screw me when it arrives, I just walk away. Then I'd search who has what on their lots.

I think you have an opportunity. Dealers want to make a deal today vs months from now. They are in the business of moving product.

Tell them how your dream build has what you want and a better color. Let them sweeten the deal for you to take the one off the lot now. They will make $$ on your order when it gets in and they get a sale today.

My Ranger had the factory running boards, I said I don’t want them and am not going to pay for them. They said we are not loosing a sale because of $500 boards. Boom, save $500 easy and drove home with the boards still installed.

Yeah that would be my approach. A simple, "well, I'm not a fan of the color though" ... even though I DO like the color haha

Well, this Thursday we are getting the Production Schedule email so I'm going to sit tight for 6 more days to see if my truck gets scheduled. Take it 1 step at a time. Plus I'd wait until the end of the month before attempting to get one on the lot.
