So what you're saying is we cannot Brake Torque these trucks? (hold the brake and floor it to burn up the back tires)
you can but the nannys may light up the dash like christmas pull power and shut of the engine to save battery ha.

Just went out and messed with it again during lunch. It takes a bit to trigger the warning. It is faster to freak out if your moving vs stopped. That said, it isn't as soon as both have an input signal to the pcm.

Left foot on the brake is not defense, it's paranoia . Also, I've seen way too many people doing that and not realizing they are activating the brake lights, so now that communication to other drivers is worthless. Left foot is for the clutch. If racing at the track... left foot braking is ok.
Not if you know how to do it..................

Whats the benefit though?
On a code call, and you needed to get there post haste, done right you could keep the engine in the power band by slowing the car in a turn with your foot still on the go pedal. However, with the technology of today, engines have much more torque, power and response. It's really not needed. I'm old, and the cars built back in the day could hardly get out of there own way. Anything you could do that would help, you did. :)

That's what the good ole heel-toe is for. Still no need to left foot brake.

I so happy to hear that. Thanks for making me a smarter person. If only you would have told me this 40 years ago.

I never saw this message before in the 3 years I've had it. I attribute it to a new pair of wider shoes I just got. ?.....
Guess I need to pickup my big fat foot a little higher..... ?

I am getting this message on my UK 2020 Ford Ranger Thunder for a few months now, and although I dont feel anything changing as I drive I will see this message appear every time I use my brake pedal.....and it's not my medium sized foot hitting the gas pedal at the same time as I apply the brake and it's not the mats anywhere near the gas pedal...this fault/feature literally appeared overnight and has decided to appear now evertime I use my Ranger!!
Any advice??

Let someone else drive it... It started happening to me when I bought new (wider) shoes.

Hi.
I was searching the forum for this fault, as we are having the same issue. It's almost every time we use the brakes, that this info comes up in the display. (And often the engine stalls first time we apply the brakes when the engine is cold. Could be part of the same problem?)
Did you ever find a solution for the problem?

my problem disappeared after a few weeks and has recently come back.

i have seen this problem mentioned on a facebook group too and if your vehicle is under warranty then the pedal will be replaced for you.
I am convinced it’s a lubricant related issue where the travel of the pedal does not fully go back to a zero pressure state, hence fooling the system that there is still pressure applied on the gas pedal. When I have a spare moment I will try and lubricate or use contact cleaner on the pedal’s travel sensor to attempt to eliminate the fault as it has gone away in the past for no reason at all, which makes me think it’s a seasonal/humidity related fault.

Im not sure how much this'll add to things..

But I've done a few brakestands in my truck.. it's a bit trickier than in old stuff.

Trac&stability off, sport mode, brake hard down, gas to floor.. but then you gotta modulate the brake a bit.. have to almost completely remove brake pressure before the tires will light up.. then back on the brakes to keep still/control roll-out.

I only have an xl... but I've never recieved the notification that both pedals are down..

I experienced the same trying to power brake my truck when stock, the only thing I do different is activate my locker. Exactly as you described, it would pull/limit power but never got the message.

I did get the message a couple of times braking towards a stop and fat footing the pedals though.

Finally tuned my truck this week. Now I can paint stripes pretty consistently. Say a prayer for my Toyos.

With all the cheap 2nd hand tuners that have popped up for sale here lately... it's been hard for me to hold on to my money.

This is my first vehicle with a warranty.. no tuners for another 25k.. ugh.
