Almost all the control buttons are only illuminated when the lights are on. Due to window tints and location, etc. I find it very hard to see the temp change and fan speed buttons for example. Can these be set to always lit?

I agree, I can't find them half the time. That said, I've not seen anything in the dash, or in FORScan that would indicate that it's possible.

Would headlights in the ON instead of AUTO position each time be the answer? I haven't tried, but just a thought.

You shouldn't even need the headlights, the park lights will do the trick.

This is the one quirk about the Ranger that really irritates me. Based on other comments, doesn't seem like this is something that an owner can do. With my 2012 Edge, I used to be able to change the temp with the right hand steering wheel controls. Would love to see Ford do something about this - if they can.

Just my thoughts since you own a Lariat. Unless I need to change the music source or need Navigation, I just put the climate controls on the main touchscreen. Easier to use than the button controls below. Just a thought...

Yes that helps. It has taken me a few miles to begin to learn the infotainment - sometimes simple things are obvious. I drive many newer Fords with similar controls and only recently figured out how to get out of CarPlay :) Still wish they would light up.

You can also use voice commands to change the cabin temp and just about anything else in the environment menu...

Since you have a lariat with climate control you should be able to use voice command to change the temp.
Push voice ,Say "climate control" then..."seventy-three degrees"...
Works on my TC. good luck!

Commands would be something like, Voice command, How May I help you? you "Climate Control"; Set temp to XX. Or "climate Control "increase fan speed" Of "Defrost Maximum" etc
