The Drift ones are supposed to be free of all that crap.

" Sustainably sourced wood, fragrance and essential oils. Vegan, cruelty-free and pet-friendly with no parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde, dea, mineral oil, petroleum, propylene or dichlorobenzene. all of the good, none of the bad."
I've often wondered exactly what those terms mean in reality. Like I'm a scientist by profession - what exactly are their measuring and classifying criteria?
I mean what the hell does "sustainably harvested" or "thoughtfully harvested" mean. Like we thought about it a bit and then decided to cut the tree down anyway, and it's a sustainable business because there are still lots more left to cut.
Vegan - well of course it is, it's bloody wood!
Cruelty free, - the tree or flowers didn't suffer when cut. Although there is new evidence to suggest now that perhaps they do. (Trees being damaged contact other trees through the underground mycelial network) - a bit like a nervous system linking trees in a forest.
Pet Friendly - our factory stray cat ate some rejects we tossed in the skip outside and is still alive. - Although the two headed kittens are a little concerning.

no parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde, dea, mineral oil, petroleum, propylene or dichlorobenzene. all of the good, none of the bad."

Then exactly what is in it, some of those compounds do in fact occur naturally. (but most are synthesized)

I like the way you think. They throw around a bunch of BS just to make us think buying their product is completely guilt-free.

This!

Scents, any scent has some VOCs. While I'm sure they're lower than the high scented ones they still contain them and they're not good for you. I was a painter for 42 years and have been around my share of VOCs and string smelling chemicals. While I've seen the industry change over the years (from lacquers, polys and oils based) to waterborne they all still have some kind of oder which isn't good for you to breathe. Yes lower is better but it's usually a false sense of security but still better than the strong scented ones.

That's why I laugh when I see people wearing a paper mask. 😷 They don't do anything but prevent dust particles from getting through and that's all. If you can smell through it, it's getting into your system and lungs. You need a respirator with charcoal filters to prevent any fumes/VOCs from getting by and they need to be changed out daily because the charcoal only lasts a few hours. I could always tell when my filters needed changing because you could start to smell and taste the product. I'm still amazed I'm not more messed up than I am now after smelling this stuff for so long. lol

Well, forty-some years of that plus those all-you-can-eat tortilla chips and salsa. Poor Annie. I hope you at least cracked the window. 😉

So true Dave, many years ago I remember a case at work of a timber floor polisher who had worked with urethane, and other solvent based floor sealants all his life who contracted leukemia. Of course people do just contract leukemia, without obvious apparent cause, but this guy freely admitted that in 40 years since his apprenticeship, he had rarely even worn a paper mask so in addition to solvent fumes, had also breathed in a lot of fine hardwood dust.
Another case was an actual colleague who had spent part of his earlier lab life doing solvent extractions often without proper fume ventilation systems.
Of course you will never know for sure, but you do just never know.

Well if you could somehow pipe that back to the engine, then a possible solution to the current fuel shortages. :like:

Of course if you were to try that over here the government would stick a flow meter up your arse and slap excise tax per litre on your gas fuel. They would also slap a fine on you for refining a gas fuel without, a refining license, then charge you for a retrospective license fee, charge you for an "export license" insist that your vehicle installation was inspected and approved by a licensed gas inspector, and insist that you add that certificate to your registration - for an administration fee of course. I'm sure I have forgotten something - but they won't. Oh of course - a carbon tax, methane is after all CH-4.
