Seriously I would start with a tune and try that first then adjust from there. I have the Livernois tune and have been very happy with it. There are many others running the Unleashed tune which is a great tune and Torrie the owner is great at tuning these Ecoboost motors.

Tune and a turbo back exhaust, would be the best overall bang for the buck. Most of the dyno results are showing that CAI's do about squat over the factory airbox.

I’m super happy with my K+N CAI and Unleashed tune. I’m also running a TurboSmart plumb back BPV for the added boost pressure of the tune. The truck MOVES! Keep in mind, I’m still only running the 87 tune! I can’t wait to try the 93 tune. I have NGK Iridium 1 step colder plugs to install yet and then that’ll probably be it for a bit.

I’m planning on upgrading the charge pipes, installing a catted downpipe, and upgrading to a 3” exhaust. I might do an intercooler, as well. That should pretty much be it for bolt on upgrades…maybe a larger throttle body if BBK comes out with a Ranger specific one.

If you’re just looking for simple bolt ons, I ‘d say stick with a tune, and either the K+N CAI or charge pipes. That’ll be $1000 or less. After that, go for exhaust.

Most of the intake options are not going to do much for you by themselves. I think the Roush intake claims 8 TQ. The K+N is truly huge, and has the largest conical filter I’ve ever seen. I installed it after driving on the tune alone for a few days and it absolutely made the tune come alive.
