I don't have a page reference, but removing the tensioner is pretty straight forward. I borrowed the picture from another who posted on this thread.

Put a wrench or socket /ratchet on the Stud (labeled 1) and lift up. The tensioner will move counterclockwise allowing you to remove the belt. Once you have the belt off the tensioner pulley, lower the tensioner by taking the pressure off the stud. With the belt off the tensioner remove the two bolts (labeled 2).

It;s not what you asked for, but I hope it helps.

Accessory Drive Belt Tensioner

Removal


NOTICE: Under no circumstances should the accessory drive belt, tensioner or pulleys be lubricated as potential damage to the belt material and tensioner damping mechanism will occur. Do not apply any fluids or belt dressing to the accessory drive belt or pulleys.


NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).

2. Remove the accessory drive belt.
Refer to: Accessory Drive Belt (303-05 Accessory Drive - 2.3L EcoBoost (201kW/273PS), Removal and Installation).

3. NOTE: The accessory drive belt tensioner must be replaced as a complete unit.
  1. Loosen the bolts and remove the accessory drive belt tensioner.
    Torque : 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

I got to thinking about this timing chain cover failure again, and I have to ask, when these failures occurred, why hasn't Ford simply installed the alternate tensioners used on the iterations of the 2.3L in other Ford platforms. Replacing that cover is far more expensive then replacing the tensioner. A poorly designed ear broke off that did nothing except to support a tensioner. And right there on the head is an ideal location already designed and used in countless other 2.3L ecoboost engines with ZERO failures reported over nearly a decade of real world use.

It is there. It has a proven reliability record. It is far less expensive repair.

Bureaucratic inertia? We can't do that, it the wrong part number! We didn't make it for the Ford Ranger, you must use the part we designated for this vehicle. If we do that, we'll have chaos! Think of the lawsuits! Our supplier will be unhappy.

What's the real reason?

Whatever it is.... somewhere, common sense got flushed.

Of course Ford has engineers. They might not be the best engineers, but then again this is Ford we're talking about.
