For those who have a bed mat, carpeted or the Ford accessory rubber one (like i have) I'm trying to figure out a way to protect the bulkhead wall and side walls from getting damaged when carrying stuff.
Have you tried the spray on bed liner material or just left in alone? Thoughts or pics.
TIA, Rob.

i know this is likely not the option your looking for but the drop in rubber plastic style that are really tough when it comes to protecting from damage. Ford sells one but you can also get it from duraliner without the ford logo and its less money for the same thing. picture from another r5g members project.

Appreciate the reply but yea I'm not interested in going to the drop in liner style, while I've had them in the past this Ranger had this rubber bed mat and tailgate piece which I'm pretty impressed with it even has a bed/ tailgate gap netting or material to stop debris from getting into the gap when the tailgate is being closed.
The problem is with a rubber type mat material on the walls its not gong to stay in place obviously, without some substantial glue or other way to attach.
I'm considering Plasti Dip spray while its not a rhino liner type spray the areas I'm looking to cover are not a high wear area like the floor is. So my research continues LOL.
Thanks.

I would feel comfortable using one of the DIY roll-on bed liner kits based on your comments. Low wear should be just fine.
Plasti-dip will not hold up to any real abrasion like one would expect in a truck bed. Insects at highway speed is one thing. A 2x4 or bicycle is another.

I saw a truck a few weeks back that had a carpet type bed mat that covered the entire inside of the bed. Think it was called bed rug or something.
That might be an option

I've had bed mats in all my trucks but you are correct, they don't protect the sides and bulkhead. You are probably best to get a spray-in bedliner and put the mat on top of it so it's easier to clean. They all feel like 80 grit sandpaper to me and I'm thinking they're hard to sweep out.
I had two Sport Tracs previously and they have composite beds. No need for a bed mat or liner in my '05 but then I got an '08 and they changed the bed material and it was slippery as hell, so I got a bed mat just so I wouldn't fall out and break my neck.

Hey all thanks for the replies and ideas, i think the best way for me is the roll on bedliner (no overspray) applied only to the side walls, wheel wells and bulkhead areas, the truck has the Ford accessories rubber mat which actually is very good quality and it is not difficult to slide & move stuff around and i agree on what was said above about light protection, im not loading contractor materials everyday.
As for the bed rug if i can get just the pieces i need individually i would consider that, will have to research it out.
Thanks, Rob.
