Just picked up the Ford rubber bed mat. It appears to be a good quality material and it's a good fitment. There's little to no gaps around the contours of the bed. I think it's well worth the $128.00 with tax I paid for the 6 ft version. I ordered it at the dealer the day I picked up the truck, you can probably find it a bit cheaper online. Excuse the wet spots, I took the picture after washing the truck.

Looks good. I like that they have RANGER spelled across it. Roughly what is the thickness of the mat?

Looks great!

Any plans to protect the tailgate?

I'm thinking or ordering the mat but would really like something to protect the tailgate too

I’m thinking about trying this. I currently have a rubber mat on top of spray-in. I can’t stand the hard plastic liners because my stuff slides around too easily on it. However, I think that behavior would be quite ideal on the tailgate. Plop a widget up on the tailgate and slide it right in to the bed.

That's exactly my thoughts as well, also it makes it easier when sitting on the tailgate.

I was also thinking of doing this. Does it apply with tape? Is it tough on the knees when you have to kneel on it?

It's the same material as the Drop in Bed Liner, so not soft by any means, but gives a bit of cushioning over the metal tailgate. It comes with 8 special washers and screws that replace the existing screws on the tailgate. Takes all of 10 minutes max to install.

Thanks, that sounds pretty good. I thought it might be a harder plastic material. Think I'll order one.

The edges and ribs are .28 inch thick, the base is about .25 in thick.

I'll probably just get some matching spray paint to cover any scratches on sides or tailgate.
At least that's what I did on my previous trucks.

Me too, and it did just fine...
Mine goes in Wednesday for the line-x and I must confess I'm a little apprehensive.

I did something similar in my 2011 I used chrome spring loaded shower rods purchased from Walmart for under $10. Worked wonders... how do you find your organizer?
The Pivot/Swing Storage Box is great! Holds lots of gear and allows easy access without interfering too much with bed storage space. The stuff I have in there now used to be kept in Milk Crates secured up front in the bed, so access was a bit of a pain, but not any more!
