Thanks. There are two leafs. I’ll jack it up and take a look.
It is possible one leaf has broken - take a flashlight under there and look along the entire leaf....

It also might not be a leaf broken... ?

Here’s photos that may be informative. The one with almost no space between rubber bushing and spring is the low side of vehicle. Both pictures are at rear of vehicle. Couldn’t see any cracks or breaks but haven’t had it off the ground yet. Perhaps there’s a break where the two springs meet at the axle, which I can’t see until lifting it off the ground.

Watching.

My truck is level but my driver side helper leaf is distorted. It’s flush at the rear but favours to the inside of the truck at the front. 1/3 of the rubber contact pad won’t touch the main leaf when compressed

Actually the second picture is at the front of the wheel on passenger side. This new picture is at the front of the wheel on driver side. Note the spacing between leafs.

If I have to replace a leaf spring should I upgrade? I tow a travel trailer. If so, any economical recommendations?

Five months later… So the dealer who sold me the truck (it was used and out of warranty) replaced a broken leaf spring. It was agreed (long story) that they sold it that way. All good. Now there’s a 1.75” difference again. Could the replacement have broken? No off-roading. Towing a 4,000 gvw trailer with WDH. It’s worth noting that the Ford specified replacement is a different product than the original. Looks pretty cheap in comparison but it’s all Ford has now. Going back to the dealer. @!*%?!!

if you can upgrade them to something better and get the dealer to eat the labor.

Springs are one of those parts I would always replace in pairs, just like I would shocks, unless they are very low miles on the parts. Even if the part was exactly the same part number.

There are so many options on the market. I don’t need to lift above stock height, don’t do heavy off-road driving. Just want a reliable spring that will help with towing and maybe ride quality.

Measured the shocks. One is definitely compressed 2” more than the other. Can’t jump up and down in the bed; has a shell. I’ll look at the springs more closely. I suppose I could just swap out the shock and see if that works.
My truck had about 50k and got a vibration I couldn't figure out. Could feel in in the seat but not the steering wheel. Wheels balanced and rotated several times didn't help. Carrier bearing was okay. Then I noticed it was worse on some roads than others so I tried new shocks. Didn't want to spend a lot since I wasn't sure if that was the problem so I got plain ol' Monroe Gas shocks from Rock Auto. Problem solved.

You can get the OME springs for around $600 a set.

If you keep a watch here and on marketplace, you can find Tremor take offs for less.

I think I paid $400 for my tremor leafs.

those are very rare and shipping kills the deal so it needs to be semi local

Very curious. In what way was the new spring different than the original. Are the leafs thinner? Is the part number different? You say it looks cheap in comparison, how so? Maybe he put the wrong spring in. Maybe pictures.
