I picked up a 2021 Tremor (Lariat) mid-January. In the light of day, it became apparent that I had bought a car with the fit and finish of an 80’s Detroit automobile. The emergency brake boot was fitted with seams almost inside out, the passenger side door handle ambient light was burnt out, the driver’s front fender trim was on crooked (at least ¾”), the drivers crash bar cover was loose causing tire rub, and the windshield electronics housing was mis-fitted. Took it back to the dealer and they took five days to fix three of the five issues while making the crash bar cover situation worse.

Just this weekend, the truck started randomly failing to start. Lots of fun when it happens at a stop light 325 miles from home on family trip. According to the dealer local to where this started happening, and as confirmed in other threads, it seems the starter motor is failing. Apparently, a replacement may take a month or so to show up.

I have had the truck out to the desert twice and am exceedingly happy with the off-road capabilities. But I am not sure how to replace the faith lost - this may be a short term relationship.

Starter?

There are no wide spread starter issues that I know of.

As for the other stuff, union pride! Seriously, what do expect out of guys with $75/hr compensation packages? They're too busy worrying about putting food on the table to do their job.

I guess I have a 3/22/2021, a Monday, build on my 2021 Lariat, if the info on my window sticker/sheet is correct. Body is straight, all panels line up, interior is quiet, everything works as it should, and no problems since June 2021 purchase.

You really hate the unions huh? You must be a real gem to be around in the workshop...

Grew up with an active member of the Machinists' Union for a father.

I've been a member of two. And courted two others while unionizing a shop. I've seen the good and bad, been there and got a few t-shirts. In my not so humble opinion the bad far outweighs the good.

I am a joy to work with, unions have no place in my current employment situation. And most likely never will.

Wait, do you think people that make $75 per hour are poor? or maybe I am misunderstanding what a compensation package is.

Same here. Mine was built on a Thursday... April 1st 2021. Straight body, interior & exterior, everything works as designed.
UAW quality workmanship throughout.

Hourly wage plus cost of benefits prorated to hourly. Basically the total amount a company spends to buy an hour of work.

And your sarcasm meter might need to be recalibrated. No, I don't think they're poor.

That would require a union technician!

Not sure if it is a union thing, a supply chain thing, or a covid thing, but it is disappointing. Also not sure how widespread the starter failure is, but there is a long thread on these forums and I have confirmed the back order status.

Trade it in for another one...you can't do worse?

Retired, work is a four letter word.
Well, I have a 5/12/21 (Wednesday) truck I picked up at the dealer, and it has only been back one time, driver door speaker inop, seems it wasn't plugged in all of the way. Other than that the truck is as near perfect as one could expect. As @Grumpaw stated, all good so far.
