How's that mount working out?
I just got a 2020 XLT and am thinking about mounting my ATAS 120.
Right now, I'm leaning more towards the bed cover mount -- nice and clean!
Better than I though it would. Very pleased so far. needs to be well grounded but works well.

It's a Yaesu ATAS-120A antenna that I use with a Yaesu FT-891. It a screwdrive type antenna. Works very well with the FT-891. When changing freq. just hit the tune button on the radio and the antenna adjust the height for good SWR. Just have to make sure the antenna is well grounded.

How's your view when driving?
Looked at the 891, ended up with the IC 705.
I don’t have any plans to mount an HF rig in my ride. Maybe a vhf//uhf on day.

I’m using the Bulletproof Diesel option. One antenna for GMRS, the other for monitoring air traffic.

I'm actually curious why you monitor air traffic

I used to be a pilot, and aviation’s an interest. But the real answer is that I’m a nerd. Why else does anyone do anything with a radio, really?

My GMSR radio can monitor the local airport's AM radio traffic, so I do. Only need one antenna for it too.
