Don't think I ever noticed heavy rain sounds, 2019 Lariat. Air noise, Yes...

Oh, the sound of small stones turning my Agrifab step bars into a zylaphone. (actually sounds cool)

2020 XLT SCAB. I was routing wire for my rear camera. Mine has the normal headliner and then a 5/16 felt pad as well. At some point I may do my doors though. They sound tinny when closing sometimes

Posted my finding on this topic in another thread (didn’t see this one). I have a 2019 Lariat. Huge difference after adding deadening material to the roof.

TLDR: the rangers roof is a giant tin can and applying sound deadening material will make the cabin much more quiet.

...and you didn't show any pics or explain how you did it.
Yeah, sorry! It’s super easy to do though. I’ve put sound deadening in 3 other cars and the ranger was the easiest by far. Doors come off super easy and go back together just as easily. The roof is straightforward too. There are several videos explaining how to.

This is the sound deadening I used:
Amazon Basics Car Sound Deadener, 9.8″ x 15.7″ (34-Piece) https://a.co/d/cDzSm70

I put these egg carton foam piece’s behind the door speakers:

Never had an issue in previous vehicles. I’m up in Washington state. Rarely gets above 90 here. I’d check the Amazon reviews to see if there’s any mention of that for hotter states.
