the 150 is only to calibrate/software. Doesn’t include the hardware install.
There is no software calibration unless you didn't have the trailer package from factory, then it costs 11$ for a forscan dongle and 15 minutes of your time.

Calibrate what software? The Redarc self calibrates the accelerometers when you first drive after install. They must be thinking of the F150 integrated brake controller. Find a dealer who knows about the Ranger TBC.

Yes, you can plug your trailer into the Echo and Echo into the trailer and finally get power. However, unless you’re one of the lucky ones...it’ll be hooked up in the reverse fashion and will not be set up properly. According to Curt, it’s got to be hooked and paired with the tow vehicle 1st, then the trailer to operate correctly. If hooked up trailer 1st then tow vehicle, it’s literally sending the signal the wrong way and will not control the trailers breaks.
Why not plug the Echo into the truck first, and then plug the trailer into the echo second? This always worked for me with my trailer and the echo.

I actually tried. For whatever reason, no matter what I did or what way I set it up, the echo still recognized it as set up backwards. Talking with Curt, it’s a know issue. I did have one of the original units though. It looks like they slightly updated the unit since. Worked amazing on my Subaru though.

May I ask , what are you towing?
Jayco 174BH. Not a large trailer but sway is annoying on the highway when going around 100-115km/h on windy days.
