Hi everyone,
Well, today is a sad day. My Ranger was traded and a Subaru is my next toy.
Thanks to all who have given my advise and good conversation over the last 4 years.
Take care everyone and drive safe!

Which Subaru? I'll be the first to say post pictures of the new ride.

I've owned 3 Subarus. I had an outback before the Ranger, and I had 2 Brats back in the 80's. Those little things were great, but they rusted really bad. The Outback was great too, and I was going to buy a new one, and then decided I needed a truck.

When I'm done needing the Ranger I'll either get another Outback, or a Maverick, but will cross that bridge when I come to it.

Enjoy the new ride Steve. I‘ve determined the best way to drive safe around here is to avoid the QEW, Gardiner, and all 400 series highways. It’s off to Kitchener for me.

That Subaru should serve you well in the Hammer. ? Enjoy.

Sorry Tony, not a turbo. I did try the WRX 6 speed manual first but figured I would loose my licence in the 1st week or maybe the 1st day! Ha ha.
I can still off road with this if needed. The worst I do is across a farm field to get to the maple bush to make maple syrup. Moving to a 2024 Crosstrel Wilderness. Pics below.

You forgot "every single paved surface within Toronto city limits", whether an actual road or not!

I owned a Subaru 360. Made life real interesting. :)
10-4. 36 hp 2-cycle. Subaru answered the challenge of importing a car slower than a SAAB 93. Fun cars. Shift at redline every gear. You had to drive them flat out to keep up with pedestrian traffic. Renault 2CV, MG Midget, Austin Healy Sprite, Fiat 500N. Subie 360. All great microcars that taught you how to time traffic lights and apex-strafe to keep up momentum. Then we created the EPA & CARB and 40mph partial head-on impact standards and they all went away.

I've had my Ranger 9 months and I think I really only needed the bed a half dozen time. Brought home a 4x8 sheet of 1/2" plywood today (holy crap that is expensive!). I think my next "truck" might end up being a hybrid Mavrick or get a old Honda crv and get a harbor freight trailer. ( I need something that can be flat towed.

Also look at any pre 2014 Subaru with a stick shift....they can all be towed 4 down. Nice thing about Subi's like the pre 2014 Forrester is they were most likely owned by an adult....therefor NOT modded and well maintained. With our previous motor home we towed a 2013 Crosstrek (Stick) over 60,000 miles in a 8 year period with ZERO problems. A Forrester would give you more interior room at just a slight weight gain over the Crosstrek.

This probably won't be an issue, but avoid anything 2009 or older. 2010 had an engine redesign, prior to that the engine had a defect and could end up blowing a seal and mixing oil and coolant... I forget the exact issue, and they made some fixes to it through out the 2000's, but finally did a engine redesign for 2010 and newer.
