For future reference I would go to the tire repair place before I would pull it out. Stress relief.
And that's how your little baby brother became part of our family. =D

Ok, so I went to a Ford dealer that is just over the mountain from me and right on the way for my trip. I have never been here before and took a chance. Got there just before they opened and the service advisor said I would have to leave it as they are pretty booked. WTF? But as I was on my phone looking up tire places, the phone rang, and the guy said I was in luck because his first appointment just cancelled. I had to wait for the mechanics to get in, but after they had it in for a few minutes the advisor told me they could not fix it because it was too close to the edge. And they didn't have that tire in stock. FUCK!
So I went to another independant tire shop near by. Too booked! So I called my dealership and asked if I could just come by. They said sure! So I drove back over the mountain. The advisor there looked at it and he said technically they couldn't patch it because it is too close to the edge, but if I wanted they could plug even though it may not be recommended. I said do it!
Moral of the story, trust your gut if you have a good dealer and service dept. Oh, and maybe get your own patch kit! I am now in Ohio. Damn weather sucked the whole way! But it's supposed to be pretty nice Monday, hopefully the sky will be clear enough for the eclipse.

I’m set up for the eclipse too, but in predicted clouds. I think there will be a 5 minute hole in just the right place and time for me. :)

I have used these for years for small punctures. Great quick fix that have lasted the life of the tire.
