So, I'm getting my topper on Monday and I was wondering a few things:

A.R.E. Z2

1. How do I clean the windows between the cab and topper?

My thought is to clean just before topper installation and apply a rain repellant such as Rainex. Is that a good idea or will it cause issues down the road?

2. Should I lay a real good coat of wax on the back of the cab before they install the topper?

If so, what would you recommend being that it will probably never be touched again?

3. Is there a seal that can be installed either:
a. Between the topper and the cab
b. Between the two windows that open (on cab and on topper).

Reason is I'd like to pump the A/C into the bed from time to time and I might accidentally leave one of the two windows opened so I'm afraid of rain/water/dirt/dust getting in either.

Hope these aren't silly questions but I'm sure some of you out there have solutions for my questions

Some toppers have removable rear windows so you can access the area for cleaning. Don't know what to do otherwise.

I know you can get an inflatable “truck boot” that surrounds the sliding window and fills the space between the two windows. I don’t think you’d want to rely on it being 100% watertight but I’m sure it would stop most of the water and dust if you left windows open by mistake.

Good idea. I'm not looking for 100% just mostly covered.

Thanks

My toppers windows don't come out.

I've read other posts that suggest to simply loosen the brackets and slide the topper back to clean. That sounds reasonable.

That sounds like the way to go. It’s probably still a good idea to Rain-X like you said. It should help to keep the windows cleaner for longer!

So, had the topper installed. Was able to watch them install it. There no way to loosen and slide back. The used double sided tape...looked like weather stripping... And caulking all around. With what I saw I should be able to completely immerse the bed in a lake. Lol. That topper is not coming off.

It is beautiful tho.
