I have the tow package and know the 7 pin plug isn't hooked up yet...but is the 4 pin plug integrated and ready to go ?

Why is the 7 pin not hooked up?? It should be.
Are you thinking of the brake controller??

I know the 7 pin is for a hook up with a brake control and a campers 7 pin plug, and brake control has to be wired in. Just wondering if the 4 pin plug is already wired into the trucks system.

I should be already to go. (Unless the factory screwed up, which I doubt) YOu can use a tester to make sure though.

yes, the 4-pin comes standard, whether or not you have the towing package. If you want a 7-pin, you'll have to add it (it it isn't already there).

BRAKE LIGHTS and the actual TRAILER BRAKES output are different things. The 7 pin ADDS the trailer brake output. The 4 pin DOES NOT control trailer brakes.

OK everyone...my simple (I thought) question got out of hand...and I am familiar with 7 pin and it's plug and the brake system set up.
Just wanted to know if the 4 pin plug was already to be used, and I went out with my probe and yes, it's hooked up and supplying power.

Yes, if you have both from the factory, they are both ready to use for a trailer without powered brakes.

I have the tow package, and wanted to use one of the lighted hitch covers wired into the 4 pin plug.
It disabled the cross alert sensors just like the trailer does, so it went back to the store.

Sorry to hear. The trucks are getting smarter like our phones, but, they still dont know when its not a trailer

I guess the simpler thing to have done is gone out and tested it before the question was posted.
