One of the worst attacks on our soil happened. Let's not forget all these who died that day and while some were running away, there were many running in to help. Sadly it seems many forgot how united we were after this and today we're so divided. Never Forget! :flag:

I'll always remember this. I was in the middle of out processing from the Army when this happened. I was stationed at Ft. Hood, TX (or whatever its called now ?) and after my initial shock and anger, I thought "great, they're not gonna let me out now". But, my ETS proceeded as normal, aside from a 2 week delay due to lost paperwork.

Breaks my heart to this day. Always will, and I think it always should.

May God bless the brave first responders and military personnel that walk among us and are the first to run toward danger to try and keep us safe.

I was power washing a house and just returned home to drop off my equipment when my buddy called and told me the news. I turned on the tv and was glued to it for the rest of the day. It was kind of weird the next couple of days with no planes flying, kind of eery silent.

Well said @AzScorpion. I still remember that sick feeling in my stomach. I could not believe what I was watching. Yes, it brought us together, but sadly not for long. And with all the unknowns walking across the border, even terrorists, and with the Taliban once again in power in Afghanistan, I am afraid it will happen again. somehow, somewhere.

The "unknowns" crossing the border are not the issue. They don't posess the resourses or sophistication required to operate at that scale. That's not to say they're not not an issue, they're just not *THAT* issue. Frankly, the biggest issue that the border crossers have posed in my neck of the woods has been financial. The city has been diverting alot of cash away from other city services and towards managing migrant services. That has had a variety of effects on PD, Fire, and especially EMS and the city hospital systems.
As far as major events go, the whole world of Emergency Services has undergone dramatic changes over the last 23 years. I'm not discounting the possibility of another large scale attack, I'm only saying that it will be significantly more difficult now.

New York City is now a very different place.

...for better or worse. I'll leave it to others to decide.

I am talking about the 375 people on the terror watchlist that have entered through the southern border under the current administration, and all the others that we don't even know about. Yes, they are an issue.

Unfortunately, I feel we are in grave danger.

Like I said sadly we're divided now.

Let's not turn this into a battle on who's right and who's wrong but remember what happened and WHY it happened. Also remember those who gave their lives that day and are still battling with the aftermath today.

Given the current situation, I think that we have relaxed too much and need to monitor ALL groups foreign and domestic who have expressed a willingness to damage this great country..I was working on the E-3 Sentry at Tinker AFB at the time. I thought in the beginning that it was an accident, but when the second one hit, I knew that the world had changed. God bless the USA.

U.S. immigration policy in our lifetimes has never been effective or satisfactory, for anyone.

Not sure I agree with you as I am first person of my family to be born in the USA. Mother was German and Father was Canadian. Mother came thru Ellis Island around 1915. Back in the day, the immigration policy was generally orderly and controlled. Except for the Native Americans, all of us immigrated here, just most before me. :)

Yes we must never forget what happened on 9/11. I fear we are already forgetting and allowing it to happen sometime in the future again. Stay strong America !

It was a SAD DAY for America, and it changed aviation and my profession as well as the world we live in - Forever
Never Forget

Although I did not know anyone who died in the attacks, it did sidetrack my career for a while with the downturn of aviation and associated layoffs that followed.
So, I suffered but not a deeply as the families of those who perished, so for me it was a depressing time but would not let myself become selfish, I just had to pick up the pieces and continue on with my life and rebuild as best that I could.
Those that perished did not get that opportunity and I will never forget that.
