With the discounts on the new gladiators, I am considering taking a look at the gladiator rubicon. Currently I have the XLT with no locker. I have upgraded the suspension, tires, and tune. Seems like it might be a good time to make the jump to have front and rear lockers, front camera, etc. Any thoughts/ input is appreciated. I am aware jeeps aren't exactly known for reliability, but the experience seems to vary greatly between different people.

When I went shopping for a truck I looked into the Jeep pickup but couldn't get past the appearance of the thing. The specs weren't better than the Ranger or the Colorado for towing and hauling. If I were an off-road guy I might feel different but more likely I'd get an older 4x4 I could mod without crying about voiding warranties or losing resale value.

I bought a brand new 2017 Wrangler.

After about a year and a half, I realized something.

Since the Gladiator was the same ting with a bed, I never once considered it.

Edit: Just looked at Koons.

Wow! $17K off sticker!

They are very long and the 3.6 motor is proven but ho hum.The 8 speed transmission is excellent.MPG will be around 16-18 realistically and is a Stellantis product.Prices have dropped quite a bit. There are a few dealers in Idaho that offer good deals on Jeeps.

I considered one and did a test drive of a Rubicon version. It rode surprisingly well on the highway and was on par in general with the Ranger Tremor. Both have Fox shocks and a relatively long wheelbase which likely contributed to that similarity. The only thing that really turned me off was the real life fuel economy looked like it was going to be on the low end of the window sticker notation.

Super overpriced when I was shopping for my Ranger. I have seen like two on the road and that was years ago.

my 2021 Rubicon Gladiator is running just fine, just one warranty item in the 2 year time period (matching what I had on my Hummer H3 and my previous 2020 Gladiator Sport); i've got the special transfer case setting that has the 4x4 auto (full time) which is a rare option; MPGs are generally around 19-20 with the 33" tires

like some folks said in this thread, probably comes down to your budget or the deal to be had, and the subjectivity on how you feel about its appearance

here in the upper Midwest I rarely see the 5G Ranger on the road, much much less than the Gladiator (maybe ppl have disdain for the Ranger ever since Ford closed the assembly plant down the road from me more than a decade ago)

yup, Fords fail too

It failed because he was doing something the vehicle couldn't handle. That or driver error.

This is the moment it happened.
