2022 Paint Issues

I got my Ranger in late June. I washed it and just noticed some paint issues on the lower body under the doors. I’m not too worried about it because it’s not obvious unless you’re looking. I’m just concerned about later rust issues where the paint comes off because it’s all globbed on at the bottom. Thanks

The problem is my photography skills but some of those globs of paint expose the metal (albeit very little) because they chip off

My 2021 XLT is the same way but only on the driver's side. Some of it flaked right off to what looked like bare metal so I ordered touch up paint and touched up. Passenger side is perfect.

What your calling "globbed on paint" is actually a spray rocker coat under the paint. It's designed that way, it's a thick rocker protection coat that does just that = protects the rocker panels from road debris. That coating is paintable, therefor it is sprayed body color.
My 20' Lariat is the same, my wife's Jeep is the same, daughters SUV is also the same.
You can buy spray cans of the cheap stuff at most auto parts stores, comes in black.
The professional product sprayed on at body shops is grey primer colored.

Thanks for the replies. Did not know about the spray coat. I have a Jeep as well and it looks the same except it doesn’t look like its dripping.

Ford did a messy ass job with it, but otherwise you're fine.
Although you said bare paint was showing, I would take a second look to make sure it really isn't metal.


Mines this way as well, just don't look towards the rear of the body... it gets worse lmao.
