I was bummed when I found out it didn't play wax cylinders anymore. It's probably good that he hasn't noticed the missing engine cover, tie points or the slanted, too high bed with undamped tailgate. In truth, I was surprised when I accepted delivery of my 2021 that the shift lever didn't have an indicator light.

You bought it??‍♂
You do not want to watch voltage, it will only make you think something is wrong. Our trucks have ecu controlled charging systems and there are times it will be 15v+ and times it will be more like 12v. If you actually want to monitor that stuff there are many ways you can do it with aftermarket support.

Welcome to the forum Ice. I'm wondering why you chose the Ranger over a different truck?

My answer to "What kind of used Ford did I buy?" I'd say the Ford that gives you much more than its size should allow.

I'm sorry for your initial feature letdowns but looking at this vehicle as a tool in the future I think you'll be really happy.

Assuming you have a smart phone check out some of the guides on here that detail how to operate Android Auto / Apple Car Play that will be included with your Lariat. If you give the system a try I think you will find you can make it work for you.

I noticed two months after I bought my 2020 Lariat that there was no CD player too. I have about 5-600 CDs so I put most on a USB drive and also have them all on a Sony Walkman (the latest greatest) and it blue tooth's to my Ranger so I have 12,000+ songs at my fingertips and I don't have to carry a bunch of CD's in my truck all the time. Win Win. Also the Walkman is only 1/2 full too. :like::thumbsup:

I discovered the lack of CD player almost a year after purchasing my truck when a friend gave me his band's CD. I went to pop it in and couldn't find the slot. lmao
If you crack open the driver’s side window just enough you will see the slot for the CD

I chose the Ranger Latiat for the sound system and I previously owned two rangers, one for twenty years and another for 18 years. With that said I figured the 2021 would have what I didn’t get But it might last me twenty years. First time with an automatic that might be a game changer for longevity.
Thank you

Buy you got ambient lighting. One more example of the government trying to distract you from reality. Ford is complicit. ?

Simple Question….. my 2021 ranger lariat does not have the “4 X 4” decals on either side of the bed. Is it because it’s not an off road package, it does have 4 wheel drive. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong area.. still feeling this out.

In your first post you complain that there is no CD player....
This post you state you bought the Ranger for it's sound system....
Since the sound system was so important to you, did you not look for/observe that there was no CD system ????
That's like saying...."I bought the truck for the spare tire.....when I got home, I noticed there was no spare tire" !!!!!

I can commiserate. When I updated the head unit in my Mazda 2, I had a want list that included a CD player. Almost impossible to get. But, I don't use it for music. I spend a lot of down time in parking garages waiting for my SO to finish doctor's appointments and treatments. Watching movies on DVD is a great way to pass the time. :)

I was hoping for a 16 way tailgate that also doubled as a dinning table that sits 6, and storage for the chairs.....but obviously Ford dumped the idea, before they deleted it.
I was shocked when I got it home and found it only went up and down.....
At least I got hood dampers with mine !!!
