Hi everyone new to this chapter of ranger fans & owners .

I have recently bought a new Ranger Raptor . Recently it has started having this issue that if it’s been cold and it’s started the centre console where all the controls are for air con and heating doesn’t come on, sometimes it starts spontaneously other times it just won’t . Was wondering if anyone else has had the same issue and knew what the solution is .
Thanks

Sounds like a loose connector. Warranty work? Or you could try to get at it yourself

See if you can video it when it happens. Might help
Haha thats what I did this time for the workshop . They have booked me in but I won’t be surprised if it doesn’t malfunction and they tell me they can’t diagnose the error on ObD as it’s not happening .

UPDATE
So the vehicle went in for inspection to the dealership, as always when they started it up , it was working fine . Than suddenly the console stopped working ( now they believe me ) . After an extensive inspection , still no answers as they weren’t expecting it to be such a long job so .... has been rescheduled for next week . Hopefully will be resolved than.

Is it just the HVAC that loses power or does the infotainment/nav screen also go out as well?

If it's just the HVAC controls then it could be a faulty or loose connector to the controls or the HVAC control board is failing would be my guess. It's fairly easy to pull the HVAC control assembly out to check if the harness is loose. The video is for a left hand setup but everything should be pretty close to the same for the right hand version.

Thanks for the input . I think that’s what they are planning to do on the next appointment. It’s just the control panel that spontaneously dies and sometimes comes on ! Only correlation with it working is warm weather and in cold it just definitely won’t .

Update

So finally after all this wait . There was a faulty connection of some wires in the roof liner that was causing all the trouble . Fingers crossed that was the end of it .
