Does anyone really care about reviews other than Ford? The only opinion that matters is yours, you either like it or not. The reviews do help in identifying any issues you may have out of the gate but there are very few vehicles out there that are perfect for everyone. I did look at them, I like the fast lane reviews most of the time and Alex on cars but in the end a test drive or two will/should be the ultimate review by the person that matters most.

That is true...

i would like to see his reviews on other midsized trucks though since he does not seem to like the midsized market.

Although I never thought about it before, I think what was said earlier is the real reason for the "review". His comments were merely intended as inflammatory in order to get hits on his video. And it seems to be working. Nothing better to generate traffic than to get people all riled up on something - it has worked exceedingly well for many people.

Sorry to say I voluntarily got suckered into watching this overly smug douche bag express his ignorance.

Unfortunately people watch reviews when anticipating a purchase, and they do influence those who have limited knowledge of the prospective subject.

I agree and that is how I came upon this review. Well actually I have been watching most of the reviews for Ranger and the 2020 Tacoma and this came up in my recommended to watch list.

I do not make my decisions off one video. I agree with the person that said earlier go drive one and make the decision based on that.
Just because one person hates something does not mean I will or vise versa. I always take reviews with a grain of salt.
I like to watch them just incase their is something I missed or need to watch for when I test drive. Most test drives are not very long.

What put red flags up for me is the comets on the transmission when it is one of the things most like.

I am always hesitant of any review that is too positive or too negative. Allot of reviewers will give glowing reviews so they do not get cut off from future reviews. I mean that guy had nothing good to say even though the other guy did. I do not totally disagree with all his points.

Neither do I but the problem is so many people do. How many videos are out there raving about the Tacoma? If you were to watch just one or two of these and never test drive one you'd never see how really bad the drivetrain is until it's to late. I was very skeptical about the 2.3 4cyl but after I test drove the second one I was sold!

I stopped watching it after a couple of minutes. I did read the comment, and wow! talk about trashing.

Looked like a review made by a arrogant teenager without content.

He is not a teenager but I agree with the person earlier that said the reviewer did it to get a rise out of people and it worked.
He got all the I hate Ford fanboys bashing and the Ford fanboys defending. There are very few reasonable comments.
He must really hate the Taco because it is on a even older platform. Even the Colorado is on a old platform now.
But he is right Ford should have redid the Ranger completely.. I still do not get the back seat thing. It does feel a little rushed just to get something out there to compete.. That said from what I have seen the Ranger still comparable to what is out there and he was way overly harsh. It aint nearly as bad as he made it out to be, not even close. It is a decent midsized truck..

He does not even sound like he understands transmissions.

He acted like the Ranger was slow and it is not slow. I felt like it may be the fastest midsized out there.

The whole comment on the price is ridiculous. With options I agree the Ranger is too expensive but base price is not bad. I actually think the whole midsized market is a little over priced some. If you read the comments most are about the 43,000 price but you can get a F150 that is almost 100,000.00.
He is basing his price on a fully optioned model. I do not think a midsized truck should be over 40,000 myself except maybe the Ranger Raptor if it comes out.

Price is what is holding me back from purchasing a Ranger yet. I am waiting till the 2020 because some of the options will be standard I want making it cheaper. I also expect bigger rebates to come. i have not even for sure decided on what I want yet but the Ranger fits my needs more.
