Got mine! For $20 it was a no-brainer. I had a cheap bluetooth module ($40 5 years ago,) that I hated using because if the phone got too far away from the scope the connection broke and defeated the purpose of being able to "put the phone anywhere." I always have a devil of a time figuring out where to put my phone where I can constantly look at it when I don't have a helper. My BT unit can't articulate either - This is gonna be great being able to hold the monitor like this.

It is pretty nifty, but what will I use it for?
When you change your spark plugs you can scope the bores and check for scoring / fouling. Look up a guide for how to hand-rotate the engine to do so. I do Euro classics restoration work as a hobby / method of self-torture and that is precisely what I got mine for, so I can scope cars I'm thinking of buying.

Oh, and you needs an SD card if you wanna take pics or film.
Yes! and if you don't already have one I recommend the cheapest, least powerful unit on sale for a thing like this. Should cost $7-8. (Amazon link.)

Thanks for the suggestions! I restored a 1959 MGA 1600 way back in my 20s. Full body off job (wood floorboards!).

And I ordered the exact card you mentioned - thanks for the link (or rather, Jeff Bozos thanks us all!). =D

@subquark - you're 100% positive it's SD and not Micro SD, correct? I was running with your post I didn't check my unit.

The "cheap one" is non-articulating... so put it down a spark plug hole and you can only see the piston top...

The pricey one is articulation... so you can curl it around and look at the cylinder walls and valves

Gotta love HiJoy endoscope. Does it come with the prep mix?

Ordered from your updated link yesterday. Amazon says I should have it today.
Curious if I can snake this through the intake to look at the valves

From what others have said, I think I'd have to pass on the $160 one if it doesn't have that side wheel on it. I didn't realize that some of them allow you to move the head around once inserted. The $18 one just looks at what you bend it to before insertion. Like I was trying to look into my engine air filter intake and it can't make the bottom bend, maybe if the head moved it could.

It's a novelty for me and one that I could have likely more wisely saved the $18, if not for being born without will power! =D

Yes, it would be nice to have an adjustable head on the end of your probe when inserting it, but I'm just as satisfied with my non-adjustable head !!! After inserting it, I don't need it to move a lot side to side, but just able to move in and out.....

So, I got mine yesterday and have to say, for $20 bucks, it's a bargain.
Charged it up, and have been able to prove, without a doubt, that when looking at my ear, I can definitely see daylight from the other side !!!!!
Who knew all those people telling me that over the years were telling me the truth !!!
Also, I have "old man hair in ear syndrome" !!!
