I could have sworn that I have seen photos of members interiors with USB ports instead of the 12v sockets on the center console. I have tried searching but to no avail. Is this a thing or am I imaging it?

Yes, there are a few of us that have done this. Look at my build thread, last couple of pages. I did this a couple of weeks ago.

Here's a couple of pics from when I added mine. I did a switch bank as well, but the stock 12V thingys are easily replaceble with the dual USB type ports. The first one I got from amazon died on me though, so I replaced it with a QC3.0 / USB C Power Delivery one. Just BE CAREFUL and pull the fuse or battery terminal because it's really easy to short out the 12V power when connecting and I blew the fuse, and there's no spares.

This is perfect, thank you, was it difficult removing that panel?

It's kinda a pain. You have to remove the panel by the drivers knees, and the glove box, then remove the trim pieces on either side of that lower part of the console (those ARE DIFFICULT and be careful) then use a socket to remove two bolts holding the 12V socket plate in place. That's pretty much it.

I didn't think removing the pieces were difficult at all.

I'll have to take mine back out, so I can install a switch panel in between the power points.

That panel looks slick. Got a link to buy it? Or did you cut it out and add the switches yourself?

If you don’t mind my asking, where did you find the dual switch with “ditch light” and “front light” labelling? I’ve been looking for one like that and haven’t found one.

From the same company LightForce but via their Australian site and paid the $30 to ship it here.
