Actually, I was pretty impressed with the quality of the trailer. It was in much nicer shape than previous Uhaul equipment I've rented, and the tires were in great shape!

Hell, I did 90 all day with a fully loaded truck and trailer and ended up dicing through south Florida traffic just to not get run over doing 90! The truck handled it like a champ!

UPDATE: Got the truck back today from the dealership. The final bill was $334 - that covered the deductible ($100) and a new battery (my request). It looks like they replaced the fan clutch, the fan clutch sensor, and the wiring harness. Before & After:

I drove it from the dealership to my work this afternoon, after getting the fan position sensor and harness replaced! Woo Hoo!

$50 isn't the best price ever, but it doesn't sound horrible either. When I was working at a Ford dealership, it was well over $300 out the door for the key, the cutting, and the programming, and it wouldn't take all that much time.

You gotta look at it like this; they can't account for the mods someone might have on their truck that might effect the front suspension geometry... ...like a tailgate dampener!

I'm split between shelling out the big money for the OE or seeing if I can put together something that accomplishes the same thing for less.

I have the very basic Sync 3 model radio (little screen) and I'm interested in upgrading to something android auto/appl carplay compatible that can display navigation. But I'd like to keep full functionality after Ford Sync3, steering wheel buttons, etc. Is that possible without swapping out...

I didn't replace the hose, just zip tied the wires out of the way. But I think the harness got chewed up a little.
