I have 12k miles on my 2016 F150 with the 2.7L (Supercrew, FX4) and the lifetime average is 17.6 MPG. Best is 22.8 MPG and the worst is 12.7 MPG (towing a 14" U-Haul cargo trailer).

"Fuelly" is a good app if you want to track your fuel mileage. I used it on my escape and does the calculations for you, and has a spot to put note so you can track the difference between the trucks estimates and real calculations. Will also graft it out and shows how much it drops during the winter months and summer months.

This is what Fuelly has for the 2019 Ranger. Looks like we have five people tracking on it so far.

I find it VERY hard to believe people are getting 25+ mpg. I am getting around 16-18 average over the course of my Ranger's first 300 miles. granted, this is 70-80 percent city driving. I also have a 2016 F-150 with a 3.5 Ecoboost and it has never got anywhere near the mileage quoted. I put a Whipple blower on my 2015 F-150 5.0 before I sold it and even it got better mileage than my F-150 Ecoboost. I love the ecoboost but from what I hear and what i witnessed, they rarely live up to the MPG hype.

Ya gotta keep a light foot or that turbo eats gas...so hard for me to do since I've had a lead foot for years.

Yeah, I get it. you need to keep your foot out of any vehicle to get better gas mileage. I like to watch my boost gauge on my F-150 and see how long I can go with generating little to no boost.

I agree, I’m about to hit 1k miles on the ranger, filled up 3 times and each time after reset it’s looking to be around 18mpg, this is with mix driving on the flat desert area of the greater Vegas. Traffic isn’t that crazy but we have a bunch of traffic lights! I’ll try the Fuelly app see the difference from the truck computer to the app

4x4 Lariat Super Crew. Just had my second fill-up. Trip monitor = 24.6mpg (got 24.2 per my calculations, so it was pretty close). 50/50 highway/city driving conditions with a little bit of mountain driving/hills mixed in. Used the start/stop feature and really tried to limit the turbo use. Pretty happy with that so far.

Looks like the DIESEL engines are the ones getting 25 MPGs.

The gas engines are doing around 20, give or take a couple depending on owner. That's perfectly in line with other vehicles in the Ranger's class with V6s.

Will be interesting to see what kind of real world MPGs people are getting after aftermarket tuning becomes the norm.

I don't find it hard to believe, but I do think it is unreasonable for most people to expect those numbers. There is just too many variables (acceleration/braking/speed habits, driving type, even weather and road conditions) that have to be close to ideal to get the top mileage.

A great example with a lot more data is my current Ranger. The stated fuel economy for my configuration is 24/29 city/highway. In the real world, though, Fuelly shows a combined average of 23.7 mpg. I drive with a really soft foot and 23.7 would be a bad tank of all city driving in the winter. I've also seen data from hypermilers with similar trucks that, no joke, push 40 mpg.

But also those hypermilers aren't haven't near the fun that you're having in your truck.

Three are listed as diesel so that will skew the overall average.
Good catch. I missed that. I guess we got the diesel numbers if they bring it to the US. :)

I've noticed that my fuel mileage improves dramatically when using the cruise control. I think the computer can do much more subtle inputs to the throttle than you can with your foot keeping the engine out of boost whenever possible. I even put my big toe on the gas pedal and the MPG's tank to 6.5 or lower. During the same type of acceleration event with cruise on, the MPG's stay in the 16-18 range for the whole time.

I'm overall 22 mpg on the dash, I've not hand calculated one yet.

I will start a fuelly so you can all track me as I drive 100+ miles each day for my commute. I should be racking them up fast.
