give that tranny some time to break in. its one of the best I have owned .coming on 8k miles nothing but nice.

I agree it's the smoothest shifting tranny. I don't remember mine shifting to quickly when I first got it but then again compared to my Tacoma tranny I was in love with this one from the start. :inlove:

Will do sir, it's probably gotta learn me as well.
One of the many Honda's I've owned was a '79 Civic with a teeny 1200 cc. motor mated to a semi-automatic gearbox, Honda called it the "Hondamatic".
It featured all of 2 forward gears, slow and slower still...lol

There's probably more truth to that statement than you realize. Modern driveline components are computer controlled and build memory. Although a horse of a different color, my 2015 Focus had 19,000 female miles on it when I got it. After a couple thousand miles under MY foot it changed it's behavior dramatically. In it's case, it loves to be driven like a standard shift as far as the throttle commands it gets. And I give it what it wants. That 10 speed is a complex gizmo, but if it can handle Raptors and the Camaro ZL1, it ought to be able to push our Rangers.

Indeed, sure is a far cry from the C3, C4, C6 and FMX transmissions Ford used to produce.
I'd sure love to see an animation of how this 10 speed works, to this day the planetary gearset still astounds me.
I heard that Ford and GM got together on transmission design, did not know that Chevy was stuffing the 10 speed in the ZL1.
I've read, however, that Ford was buying Hydramatics from GM in the fifties and installing them in Lincolns.
I'm not a Mopar guy, but of all the big three, the Torquefite was probably the toughest 3 speed of all, IMO.

The Eagle (or turkey, Heaven forbid) has landed...
This pic is what the dealer sent me of my build, they wanted me to pick it up today (Friday, Jan. 17) as 5 people (including a mechanic there) have inquired about it.
She's coming home tomorrow...

Is that the Race Red? Looks pretty close to the HPR. I was leaning towards the Rapid Red, but that looks pretty damn nice

It is "Rapid Red Tri-coat metallic clear coat" code D4, it replaced HPR for model year 2020 and it's a $395 option.
It's a stunning, vivid red, reminiscent of Candy Apple red, I've been told by a body and fender buddy, however, that tinted hues such as this are impossible to match exactly, should repainting be required.
Right now, that is the furthest issue on my mind.

Thanks 808matt, it was definitely worth the almost 3 year wait, when you factor in the announcement that it was returning.
Just that the last 5 months of that wait was especially trying.

BTW, that used Taco you saw is still on Cutter's lot...
