Hello! First time post. I have a 2023 Ranger Lariat Tremor that I just recently purchased. Recent owner took great care of this vehicle. I just installed a 2 inch readylift leveling kit on it using top spacers only which readylift recommends. Im running 265/70/17 on it and would like to go with 270/70/17 with .5 or 1 inch wheel spacers on it. Would i have to remove the crash bars if I go to that size tire with or without the spacers? I might even go to a 285 but the crash bars would more than likely have to come out, sounds like a pain. Any opinions? Would help. Thanks.

Never heard of an even number tire width, and don't see any manufacturer with a 270/70-17 in their line-up.

The thicker the spacer, the larger the tire range of movement arc becomes, so the more likely have rub on the crash bars. Without spacers, 275/70 shouldn't be a problem, 285/70 seem to be somewhat of a gamble. Some guys have rubbing, some don't. There is some room for adjustment with the crash bars, which may resolve the issue.

I'm on 285/70, 3.5" lift, with 35mm off set rims, which is about the same as 3/4" spacer. My crash bars were removed before the tires went on, so I don't know if they would have rubbed. Passenger side, inside sidewall has very slight rub against the frame rail at full right lock.

The window for hassle free tire size increase is relatively small on these trucks, if you don't want to risk rub or making other changes. Increasing width, diameter and a spacer, all at once, makes it difficult to be sure. And of course add a little manufacturer variance with each individual truck.

Also each tire manufacturer and model will have slight variance in actual finished dimensions compared to another. And tread pattern as well. An aggressive AT tire could protrude 1/2" farther from center than a highway tire.

275/70 on half inch spacer is probably the largest to be (relatively) safe without needing other mods afterward.

No lift.
3/8" spacers: wheeladaptersusa.com
BDS crash bars.
Plenty of clearance! No poke!

Taking out the crash bars is not a big deal at all. A lot of Ford Broncos do not have the crash bars installed for bigger tires from the factory. As soon as you remove the crash bars, you’ll be glad you did that because now you have lots more tire room………. P.S. it is easy to cut the crash bars as long as you have a carbide tip blade on your sawz-all……..

If you do remove the crash bars, I found it much easier to loosen up the bumper bolts, one side at a time, and slide them out...instead of cutting them. It takes about an hour to do it this way. many YouTube videos on how to do it.
The steel used in the OEM crash bars is very hard and does not want to cut easily.
Like RK stated, a few models of Broncos, and even Ranger Rapters, don't have crash bars because of tire clearance.
I put the BDS crash bars on because I found a set off this forum for cheap.

Cool! Appreciate the info. Not sure what tires I will go with at the moment. I have the General Grabbers on the truck at the moment, but thinking Goodyear Wrangler or Toyo.

Yep, I saw a few videos on it. I might take a look at the bumper option if I decide to go with a 285. Thanks for the info.

We do. lol

There's a couple threads in the Sticky section at the top of the Tire, Wheels & Brakes section. I guess no one looks there anymore.
