Emptied my JLT catch can after 3000 miles of use. Also replaced cabin air filter and gave the interior a quick once over

Where is the cabin air filter? Behind the glove box? How hard was it to replace?

It's easy to replace and it's right behind the glove box. You first have to go underneath and disconnect the glove box damper cord (right side) than you just press each side inwards and it falls forward.

Hold on a gosh-darn minute. They put a damper on the glove box door and did not put one on the tailgate? Someone at Ford needs to get their priorities straight. :frown:

Thanks for that. I should have known there was a YouTube video for it! Similar procedure to my Honda (except for the damper cord). WAY easier than replacing it in our C-Max - that you have to contort yourself and the filter into odd positions to mangle it into place. Glad this one is easy.

I'm always looking though YouTube and came across this one a while back and saved it along with a few others I thought would come in handy one day..Even though it!s similar to my Tacoma (minus the damper cord) I tend to force things and break them so as I got older I realized it's better to be safe than sorry lol.

EXACTLY. When I took my Honda in for a recall repair, they wanted $90 to change the cabin air filter. A $20 part and literally took 60 seconds to replace. Knowledge can be power for sure.

With all the plastic in modern vehicles I get nervous about forcing things too much - which is why (as you said) these videos are very useful.

Try using a clay mitt or a clay towel. They're easier to use than a bar as you get a better grip and more clay on the surface of your vehicle. Just remember to use a lot of lube (speed detailer),more is better and go side to side than up and down on each panel. Then take a plastic baggie and run it over each panel,if you still feel grit then just re-clay that area until smooth. Some like to use soapy water but I like the lube because it gives you more slip. Also do not use any pressure at all, just let the mitt glide over the surface which is why you want to use a lot of lube. I used this mitt here. There's a ton of YouTube videos you can watch but here's a quick one to give you an idea.

Thanks for taking time to record and post this for us!

Used Forscan this week and finally updated my Tire circumference in the computer now speedo is correct. Also enabled Babi mode foglights and brights as well as the Raptor splash screen at startup on Sync.
Just curious, does the updated tire info correct the odometer as well?

How often does the cabin air filter need to be replaced? I've would've thought one would last much longer.
