Besides Camburg, does anyone else make a uniball UCA that fits both aluminum and steel knuckles? My truck was in a wreck in 2021 and Ford put an aluminum knuckle on the side they fixed. So I can’t just go with any set of UCAs. My upper ball joints are fried so I have to replace them asap.

You might be better off getting a matching knuckle and swapping it in while you do the UCAs.

Not better off financially - they are not cheap, but you’ll have options.

I would go back to the dealer and have them correct it. Let them know what the issue is and what it's a problem. Best case scenario they make it right.

Unfortunately this was an insurance claim due to a wreck and it was closed 5+ years ago

I guess, couldn’t imagine how much more I’d have to pay on an already high shop bill though

And you just now noticed?
My question isn’t about knuckles. I knew it was an aluminum one the minute they put it on, the question is about who makes unibal control arms that can be used with both steel and aluminum knuckles so I just have to order 1 set

I'm also asking why it has to be a uniball type. Those will actually wear out faster versus your conventional ball joint with a grease zerk. Might want to check out SuperPro and Whiteline. I already mentioned it here on the Forum. It's good stuff and yeilds good results.

Do they offer an option for both steel and aluminum knuckles?

I do not believe they do as the taper is different between the two. You have two options. Replace the knuckle so they match or remove it and have the ball joint taper machined to match the other. Personally I'd buy a used knuckle from a salvage yard and swap it to match.

The part is alone about $315 - a bunch of things need to be R&R’d and it would likely add 1.0 to 1.5 hours shop time. It’s certainly a lot to tack on to an already big bill. Some folks wouldn’t even blink at the cost and some wouldn’t even blink at doing the work themselves.

Everyone’s sitch is different so I was just putting it out there. I hope you get it all figured out.

Any idea on which one is superior? The steel or aluminum? I know the steel one has like .25” more clearance from my tire than the aluminum one

This is opinion only but I prefer the steel knuckle, while aluminum is lighter it will snap in accident where a the steel (should) bend and not snap. Again just my opinion. However on the flipside of that there are more options on control arms for the aluminum knuckles. So I guess it's a toss up.
