The markups are so ridiculous. Maybe a year or two ago they even had them on regular Bronco Sport.

Raptors are so ridiculous, at least on the west coast. My buddy just bought a F150 Raptor 37" package for $6k under MSRP but had to buy from a dealer in Wisconsin. Dealers in CA where he lives basically laughed at him when he asked for MSRP. I think he also checked UT and AZ with no luck.

He really wanted a Raptor R but got the same smirk and a "good luck" from one dealer when he asked for $10k markup rather than the $30k they had. He said he offered a dealer MSRP price on a used one and they declined (I assume had super low miles).

Thankfully I am happy with my Ranger but if anything happened to it, I hope to find a RR at no more than MSRP.

Yep, pretty much where I am at. If anything happens to my truck, then i would hopefully find a decent RR deal somewhere. Who knows...

Wow - they are sitting on dealer lots at MSRP in my area and depreciating as quickly as any other vehicle that overstays it’s welcome.

This is why I traveled up to Spokane, WA to get my Tremor. They sold it to me for MSRP when everyone else was getting above that and also adding ADMs which this dealer never did. AZ dealers are famous for adding ADMs to everything (at a ridiculous price) and one reason I'll probably never buy a vehicle here and will be traveling for the next one. It actually wasn't bad as we got a quick mini vacation in and saw part of the country we've never been to.

You would think that internet shopping would be the death knell for ADM, but apparently dealers still sell it.

There are always going to be the "Gotta Get It First" folks who will pay whatever is asked, but there aren't enough of them to sustain ADMs.

I still wonder how those that paid $20K-$30K OVER msrp for their Broncos feel now. lol

Usually these are the same people who make a lifetime of poor choices and then tell everyone life screwed them, poor me and that they'll never be able to retire. 🤦‍♂️

With the prices and insurance cost nowdays, if something happened to mine, I'd find another early 2000's Silverado and replace the engine and trans as needed. I've had enough of this Ford crap and don't need a NEW truck for status.

It’s kinda funny that when you look in the cab, you can see the motorcycle handlebars. 😀

I've seen some wonder why Ford hasn't put a lot of $$ in Ranger advertising - I think it's because Ford gets more ROI advertising stuff like Broncos and F-150. And as someone mentioned some folks need to be seen with the latest and are willing to plunk down extra $$ for that - and for a number of those it's more about status. I was surprise when in Telluride last fall for the Blues and Brews festival how many visitors were driving Ford Broncos - these are mostly well heeled folks.
Going back to my summers working at Bethlehem Steel - status back in those days for some workers was annually trading in their Cadillac, Lincoln or Chrysler for the latest model. It's a different world now, those factories are long gone with their high paying jobs.

From A1 regards bronco demographics:

Ford Bronco buyers are typically wealthier, younger, and more brand-loyal than competitors, often adding them as extra vehicles rather than replacements. The demographic skews toward men, though this is changing, with many buyers being adventure-seekers, suburbanites, or switching from Jeep. Bronco Sport buyers are evenly split between men and women, while the full-size Bronco has a higher percentage of male owners. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Key Demographic and Buyer Profile Details

  • Income & Lifestyle: Buyers are often wealthier and live in suburban areas, looking for a lifestyle vehicle that offers off-road capability for camping, hiking, and skiing. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Gender:
    • Full-size Bronco: Primarily men, although female ownership is growing.
    • Bronco Sport: Roughly 51% of owners are female. [1, 2, 3, 4]

And here I was thinking that a Smart car looked unsafe.
It's the new Ford Lightning Mini UVFS (utility vehicle for seniors). Walmart friendly so you can drive right in and shop without a scooter. Gonna be the next little big thing.

That would be a perfect vehicle for many Walmartians.
