Hi, my truck is going in for a full transmission overhaul. Are there any other parts that have been updated on the 10r80 other than the cdf drum and outer shell? Just want to make sure I’m getting all the updated parts. The part number for cdf assembly and the outer shell are jr3z 7h351 B and pc3z 7b177 A which is the latest part number. Thanks in advance, Geoff

I’m not seeing anything about the valve body. You should ask what they’re doing about that. Cleaning? Or replacing?
If the cdf bushing has a failed a leak test does that automatically mean the valve body is bad too, do they both usually fail together? Are the symptoms of a bad valves body different then a failed cdf busing?

How many miles do you have on the truck?

Dang, that's pretty low for a failed trans.
Mine began showing symptoms egregious enough to be noticed between 40-45K. Rebuilt shortly thereafter.

The big concern is the debris created by the CDF drum failure causing friction material and possibly some fine metals to get in the valve body and can cause valves to stick or hang up. There’s been several posts on here where the CDF drum was repaired but nothing done with the valve body and resulted in a second repair.

It doesn't even take failing parts to make that happen. Just the transmission operating normally creates enough debris to cause issues over time.
