Problem linking Ford app to Ranger?

I recently purchased a 2022 Ranger XLT, and am trying to connect the Ford app. The app won't let me connect because apparently a previous owner is already linked.

I went where the app directed to do a driver reset but there is no ford connect reset option. The only thing I can find is a master reset.

Anybody have a similar issue? Do I need to do the master reset or is there something I'm missing?

I would do the master reset in the Sync menus. It will reset Sync back to factory defaults.

You may try pulling the TCU fuse for 5 minutes and also delete and reinstall the ford pass app after the master reset - it’s the TCU that’s locked to the previous owner that needs the updated information of authority authentication

In the app, under drivers, there are 2 reset options under Reset instructions. Are you able to navigate to that to delete the previous driver? If not, I believe that you will have to call the phone number I gave previously.

Worth a try, if I can find that fuse. :)

It is in the Ford App, not Sync.

I can't get into the app. I can't add the truck and it won't let me past that page. I appreciate your responses.

The whole App needs to be re-engineered, it sucks now
and every time it updates it logs me out and I never remember the email address or Pass I used so I havent even been able to get back in for months now, just a pain in the ass

interesting thread, hope you fine a resolution. about 2 weeks ago I had an issue where the radio just stopped working. nothing from the radio (am/fm/sirius XM or even android auto). when I eventually did was a reset (hold the radio's power button and the seek right button -- the one on the dash, not the one on the steering wheel for 5 seconds) and my radio system reset, which kicked my account off of the FordPass app. To re-enable, I needed to get in the Ranger with my phone on, and let the phone "find" my truck with bluetooth turned on.

Just had The Works done and tried to log into the app and the same "need to have prior owner give you permission" popped up.

Ford I'm the only owner of this vehicle!
