The only time I've ever paid money for a dog was for a pure bred Chow.

I think it was pure bred to the point of inbred because that was the dumbest dog I've ever had.

I also had a Chow/German Shepherd mix that was the BEST dog I've ever had.

It was smart to the point of being downright clever.

Now it's the N'east turn and it looks like all snow because it's freezing up there and mostly in the teens and single digits. 🥶 KY has a lot of sleet and ice into WV.

All my family & friends are still up in MA/CT and they're expecting up to 24" in some areas there.

Wow, that's to bad about the Chow.

Ours were both pure breads and really great dogs and very protective of the family. They came from 2 different breeders and about a year apart and the cinnamon one had hip problems later one but I guess that's pretty common with Chows.

Pretty serene here. At these temps, sounds outdoors take on a bright, tinny nuance; like you turned the treble all the way up and the midrange to zero.
-26ºC: Red background is cold weather advisory. No kiddin'.

I’ve paid money for pure bred Rottweilers and had some sort of trouble with every one of them. The best dogs that have ever owned me were mixed breeds all from shelters or stuck in bad situations. I volunteered to transport dogs between rescues for about five years up until the virus hit. I moved 429 dogs just over 30,000 miles and most of them were throw aways that were never treated right and just wanted someone to love and take care of them. Every one of them was very hard to let go at the end of the run. The last dog I adopted was a TWC and she was just two hours from the kill room when a friend pulled her just in time before her final walk. I had her for nine years and at 70 years old, I cried like a baby when I left her go due to health issues. She was my Princess.

I helped my lady friend adopt this Great Dane four years ago from a bad relationship and she is the absolute in sweetness for as bad as she was treated the first four years of her life. We take her in TJ Max, Big Lots, Old Navy, Home Goods, to all the wineries and breweries and she loves Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Tractor Supply. We don’t even think about losing her.

About an inch of snow overnight, changed to light rain several hours ago, sleet hitting the windows. Just fixed me a ham, egg, and cheddar cheese sammich on wheat toast and a fresh avocado drizzled with cinnamon and raw honey. Just checked the power lines out front, they’re icing up so it won’t be long. Just sitting here waiting for the lights bulbs to go out.

Ranger is taking shelter in the barn. Grainy photo is from security cams.

In about a 100 mile distance 19 degree temperature change. Mostly snow to the north, We are in the sleet section until mid day, then back to snow. Lucky to be colder here because it is freezing rain to the south. I think I am going to spend some time today looking at pictures of the beach house we will visit this spring.  NFL Playoffs on tv and a home made pizza planed for dinner and life is good.

It's a big yawn-fest here in "The Great White North". It's cold but the wind is light and we'll only get about an inch or two where I am. Not that far away, folks are looking at 18" or more. Stay warm and safe folks - more importantly, stay home.
