Not sure what that is.
Joel, here's a video showing you the process of walnut blasting and what the valves look like before and after. It's a 2.3 EcoBoost in a Focus with only 48,000 miles on it.

Thanks for the clarification....
To be fair, Ford should have called the one in the Ranger an R70 or something.

Ford doing Ford things.

I would be curious if those clutches could be added back in, or rebuilt as a full on R80. Had I kept my Ranger that was something I was going to investigate.

The Flying Wrenches YouTube guys did a video where they added the extra pieces to 5G transmission they were rebuilding. So it’s doable.

You are reading my mind. I think that they can be installed as the external housing is identical and drums/cans are identical. Torque converters are different but both fit in the same space

Had to have AI find the video for me.

Bout what I expected. Different snap ring grooves and a different piston. Don't know how much those parts cost, but you can do it, and if you were getting one built by the aftermarket I would have it built as a 'real' 10R80.

After looking over all the options, I decided to get it rebuilt by a well known highly reviewed local shop. They were very familiar with the 10r80 issues and assured me they use all the ford oem updated parts. They told me it would be close to two weeks before I get it back and they were done a couple days earlier.

He showed me my "trash can", ? Inside there are two ridges going around the inner diameter. One of the ridges had a groove cut into it. The ridge closer to the opening looked fine. One of my friction plates had a chunk missing.

I've been driving it now for 2 days. Honestly it feels the same before it went bye bye. I never had any issues out of my transmission till I did. It had a few weird hiccups but overall it always shifted fine. It felt it's best when I added Lubegard Platinum. I've thought about adding it to my new rebuild but if something were to happen, I would be worried the shop could decline any repairs under their warranty.
Mine developed poor shifting about 3,000 after replacement. I replaced the DPFE sensor and problem solved.
