2025 Ranger 2.7 - LOUD turbos?

Just picked this guy up yesterday. During my test drive, admittedly leisurely, I didn’t notice much noise from the turbos. On my 1.5 hours ride home - WOW! They make this loud whooshing noise - very different than my 3.5 ecoboost F150. Loud enough that my wife - who notices nothing in car sounds - was a bit shocked.

Is this normal?

Congrats on getting your new Ranger. This is the 5G site which are years 2019- 2023 Rangers and you'd get better answers from those on the 6G site which is what yours is.

Dosen't make sense to me. Turbos being to loud. Dads F150 has the 2.7 twin turbo V6 and the only time that you can really hear them is when he drops the hammer on it.

Drive slower. Or you have a boost leak. Would throw a code pretty quickly I would assume.

Maybe it’s artificial engine noise piped into the cabin like lots of vehicles do these days. I turned that off on my 5g with forscan.

It is in the ACM, as the "Software Engine Sound Enhancement (ESE)". Disable it.
