I don't know if anyone else has seen this one, but I just did and I actually liked it. This guy usually does some pretty good videos when it comes to explaining different things on automotive and other similar stuff. Also helps my argument of not running octane below 87.

85? Is that widely available?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a rating here in Canuckistan lower than 87.

We range from 87 to 94 - yep, 94.

It is available in the United States in a few different states. That I remember Colorado Wyoming Idaho and I believe Utah offer it. I don't remember if any other states offer it. I am also aware that New Mexico offers 86 in the northern half of the state

That guy does a really good job of explaining a rather complicated subject. If anyone else was in the video, I think it would be good for insomnia. :D

Very interesting. I live at 5900 feet and have never put less than 91 octane in my Ranger. Now, with a tune, I have no choice. :)

When you were running 91 octane before you put your tune in, did help or hurt the stock tune? I was wondering, because all I ever run in my truck is 87 octane.

You have a turbocharged engine. 91 or more is going to be preferred for knock reasons. Yes Ford has authorized 87 octane to be used in the EcoBoost. It is also proven that premium fuel helps the EcoBoost perform better. You will get generally speaking between one two miles per gallon better on average assuming you're trying to be easy on the pedal along with the fact you don't have to retired ignition timing as much allowing the vehicle to have more performance and more power. Yes this is all stock

Really nice video. I recall seeing 85 in Canada, driving from California to Alaska pulling a travel trailer. Odd, but didn't give it much thought. Had to use regular, because premium was not available at some stations on the Alcan.

Hard to say, drove out of the dealership, filled the tank with premium from 1/2 full. Never really knew. Having said that, my 6 or so other turbo cars alway ran best on the good stuff. Everything from an 87 TBird Turbo Coupe to a 19 Ranger.
