94,124mi. Had a coolant intrusion in the EGR Cooler which took out the egr sensor and created some other problems. $100 out of pocket for the $1869 bill; 58% of the cost of my 10yr 150Kmi extended service plan. And I got a bunch of points. 84Kmi changed all fluids including brake (and blinker, lol). Rotated & rebalanced tires, and annual alignment. New Cooper Discoverer AT-3s at 50Kmi still have ~6/32 (5mm) tread; should get 55-60Kmi.
Did the blend door job at 12Kmi under warranty.

I don't haul or tow, and I tend to be more balloon foot these days. I have hauled my 470lb motorcycle on cross country trips, but none this year. Kristi & I go up to northern Cook County Mn, east of the BWCAW and drive around on some of the USFS and county roads looking for moose. Saw a couple muskrats this year, a lynx in 2016 and a half dozen moose over the last 40+ years

Just passed 40k on a trip to TX and back last week - this thread gives me lots of hope. It’s easy to get sucked into reading threads about problems here so it’s nice to see one about successes.

The thing about a page like this is, many come here to share/report a problem and seek advice on it, so you will undoubtedly read through quite a bit of them. There is a large percentage of these trucks out on the roads doing just fine.

94200 miles 2019. No problems. Tow 3000 lb camper. Just normal maintenance. No transmission fluid changes. Afraid to mess with good thing. Heard some say they changed transmission fluid and had problems from disturbing the sediment.
I decided early on that I was just going to leave the tranny alone. In my old Sport Trac I had the trans flushed three times over the years and it crapped out at 132k anyway. My take was that changing the fluid didn't make any difference.

Shortly after it hit 100k two months ago I was going on a camping and off-road trip with another Ranger club to southeast West Virginia. My wife decided to come and she rented a 3800 lb. camping trailer. I figured I should change the fluid and took it to my mechanic. He is primarily a transmission shop but does state inspections and other repairs. He told me I should leave it alone since it drove and shifted fine. Towed the trailer up and down the hills in PA and WV for 500 miles round-trip and it's still fine.

I do warm it up before I drive and don't put it in gear until the idle speed drops. Shifting to Neutral will usually drop the idle speed, if it doesn't then shift it from Neutral back to Park and that will drop it. In my old Sport Trac the reverse band cracked in the tranny, probably from me not knowing any better and slamming it into reverse right away every morning. Although my man said the whole tranny was toasted and on borrowed time when he rebuilt it. I had the fluid flushed at 50k, 100k, and 130k and it crapped out at 132k.

Anyhow, I have 103k on the Ranger and the only repairs have been new rear brakes, rear shocks, a new battery, and DPFE sensor. I have changed the spark plugs once, the lube in the diffs and t-case twice, and the coolant, just because. Oil changed every 5k with Valvoline Synthetic and Mobil 1 filter. Most trouble-free vehicle I've ever owned.

@JohnnyO, I'm with you on that. As of this afternoon my 22 has a little over 105,000 miles on it, and I left the tranny alone and get it serviced at Quick Lane ever 5,000 ish miles lol.

The tranny fluid will get changed whenever it gets rebuilt, if I have it that long. Thinking of getting a new one in the spring but then I'd have to give up my Supercab with the longer bed. I don't need a back seat.

My experience is similar. Haven’t touched the transmission yet at 88,000. Haven’t had any issues transmission related. I’ve changed the spark plugs, front and rear pads, rear diff fluid, and a new DPFE sensor. Regular oil changes and air filter changes.

I don't think I have seen anybody with a 5G Ranger have that experience. Could be wrong.
I read where it said not to do a flush on higher mileage transmissions for that reason. I had a flush done at 90,000 and am at 148,000 now. Not sure I’ll do another flush, may just do filter with drain and fill.

On tranny flushes, I've watched a few a his vids inc the one where he says he wouldn't buy a Hyundai or Kia as their engines are failure prone as the miles extend over 100k. He even wears what appears to be a clean mechanics uniform and has slicked back hair.
