She is not really an XLT anymore. I think I will be making a badge to read like below in the XLT vent - just need my rat kids to print a couple out:

.

Trans oil pan drain every 30, Full Synth every 10, drive it like I want another truck payment...

Her beginnings - 3200 miles - purchased on my birthday - January 2022

Towing big fat sailboats all over the SW ..

At 97,000 - a Trip to PNW

And then towing a 24' camper to Colorado for 8 days of camping:

Only thing I would change is the catch can.. get a bigger one.

Rubber side down, people.

Good to hear it's still going strong at 100,000 miles. My 22 isn't far from that particular milestone at 99,000 and some change. Nice ride BTW!

My 2020 has 85k to go, Good to hear that it gets there!

- Yeah ... I need to drive it more.
Just drive it, enjoy it, keep it maintained and have fun with it! These little trucks are tough as can be it doesn't matter what generation Ranger you have, you can put 'em through the ringer and they will come back for more. 😁

94200 miles 2019. No problems. Tow 3000 lb camper. Just normal maintenance. No transmission fluid changes. Afraid to mess with good thing. Heard some say they changed transmission fluid and had problems from disturbing the sediment.

I have to agree with you on that. The old saying that I always heard growing up was to " leave well enough alone."

I don't think I have seen anybody with a 5G Ranger have that experience. Could be wrong.

My experince ..
1)1998 5.4l Expedition 4" lift, 34" tires - I took her to a reputable trans shop for a flush at 140k- 5k miles later I was in the shop getting a new trans (nuked the TC while wheeling in Rocky Mtn NP). From there, I started doing pan drops every 30k all the way to 420k before i sold her.
2) 2010 4.6l Mountaineer - continued doing pan drops changes every 30k. She has 290k now and is my backup TV and loaner when the kids cars need a spa day with dad.
3) 2021 Ranger.. well, see above..

Seems a neglected trans may have issues with a flush, while a maintained one will live on. Kinda like not changing your engine oil. Going 50-60k may save you $$, but then you are replacing the engine.

Your milage may differ.

Glad to see + positive Ranger long life posts.
I’m at 12.6 k miles and only go 3K a year 50 % towing 4500 lb camper. I have done fluid, filter, dipstick , and PPE pan upgrade.
We tow camper 125 miles to East Coast Fl beaches when weather and campgrounds are available. No issues.

I was advised to ignore all transmission threads to keep from going crazy, and that's what I'm doing.
