It the check engine is flashing, then you should have a DTC code stored. As I said in your other post, the flashing light usually means a misfire, and a good code reader will show which cylinder.

Yes it is true a flashing light generally revolves around a (Misfire) and it may not be coding due to the time frame for the (Number of Misfire) counter, however it would show up in (Mode 6-Data)
with the noise you are getting, I cannot confirm but highly suspect the noise is coming from the By-Pass valve.
Now with a issue in this system it would create a misfire most likely across all cylinders as its improperly controlled boost pressure
I would look at Mode 6 Data, to see which cylinders are picking it up to pinpoint down if a plug and or coil is causing the issue (it would show a single or dual cylinder misfire)
With the secondary cylinder following the firing order.
Firing Order = 1-3-4-2
The cylinder with the highest number (count) will be the problem cylinder
If all cylinders are showing high counts, then I would back up to the By-Pass valve or wastegate as a possible source of the issue.
Here is a quick test of the Wastegate, there are more in depth tests, but this is a basic test to show if the Wastegate is moving to (90-100) percent when the pedal is fully applied.
The drawback of this test is you cannot simulate the exhaust flow, creating the fluttering noise if excessive play in the actuator is present.
At full throttle (fully applied) the wastegate closes allowing full pressure to the turbo, this MAY be why its only showing up @ WOT and IF it (the wastegate) is fluttering then the pressure will also be fluttering - this would be the loud noise at the By-Pass Valve.
Also @ WOT the By-Pass valve should be closed and at the end of the sound clip #2 it sounds like the By-Pass valve opened and (blew off pressure)
So the Wastegate & By-Pass valve (work together) and in this (issue @ WOT) you have to factor in that the Air-Fuel Ratio may be thrown off (Hence, a misfire with a flashing CEL)

Well guys and gals You won't believe this one The noise I've been hearing at wide open throttle appeared to be the spark plugs just zapping away. I replaced the Spark plugs And I replaced the rear O2 sensor And the problem is fixed. Whether it was replacement of both or one or the other I have no idea but the truck drives amazing. Of course like a lot of Ranger parts I was unable to find the forward O2 sensor at the dealership/ auto parts store as I wanted to replace them as a pair so I have to wait a few days for one to come in.

Awesome and Good Fix, but I would say the noise was the By-Pass valve, not that is was faulting but a secondary reaction of the pressure imbalance caused by the improper fuel burn, so you were actually getting an ignition misfire.

So I see your username is Airline Tech I'm assuming you are an A&P I also an A&P 20 years and past 5 years in space industry anyways the sound that it was kind of making sounded like a stick Shaker on an aircraft yoke when you're stalling. Whatever the hell it is I'm glad It's fixed.

Yes - 31 Years here, made many moves with this career chasing the money and 2 layoffs (9-11)
Spent time overseas (contract -consultant) with Airbus as well. Love It.
Worked in automotive prior to this, walked away in 1994, So all the new age must have a scan tool for codes etc was after I left the field.
And the sound was missing - Bitc.... Betty (Stall-Stall-Stall)

And after the EGR Fiasco A co-worker who used to be an auto mechanic told me 70-80% of issues with newer cars these days is due to emissions. After three differential pressure switches since I've owned the truck and talking to him, he's the one who said replace it all so I went with the EGR tube and sensor. I just thought it's time to replace them the (O2 sensors)

The water gets in through the "cowl"??? Of the hood???
Do not know thw part name but were the hood closes by the windshield. When ir rains carwash whatever the rain drips on top of the engine. Of course with no drainage system it collects in the spark plug wells. Lots of fixes for it here on this forum. Or get the infamous engine cover. A noodle or radiator hose slipped on provides an engine gutter system that helps to deter water too. Used to see this issue with lots of explorers and 5 cyl colorados. Its annoying and can be expensive as coils and spark plugs are not cheap. And without compressed air, hard to get the water out
