1st big trip picking up My Geopro 19 in SC and then back to Pa, then Ct.
Next was CT CC to Badlands>Mt Rushmore>Deadwood>Yellowstone NP> Helena, Montana>Fox Alaska>Denali NP. And then reverse. 10,870 miles of adventure and so many memories. Heading back to Montana in Sept, and then straight up to Banff, Jasper, and Yoho. ??????

Man nice dude. We have a Geo Pro 19bh but have just been to boarder states with it. This summer we will be going from Vegas to Idaho, which will the the farthest one for us. Ranger does great but finally upgrading the radiator and intercooler.
There is a long steady climb we have to do towing back from CA and when it's +110F I usually have to stick to 55mph to keep it under 230f.

2832 miles the day I picked it up from the dealership in Texas to Daytona Beach, Florida and back to Mission, TX. No mods other than the Roush post-title package. It took a couple days. Great way to get to know your new truck.

*trip began 5 minutes after I took this picture... it looks a little different now.

We actually ran into a little bit of hell as it was Sept and in ND and the temp was 103!! And then son's dog ran into a stick picker patch! Luckily because I did the trip with 2 dogs I brought clippers.
That was a hell of a night! :whew:

As an FYI , there was only a $200 option on the Ranger from the 4WD with no Tow package, to the 4WD with the tow package. So I absolutely assumed that was the price of the hitch, So I added the hitch myself. And had zero issues with anything. And the Alcan is very unforgiving....

And yes, I have flown from Ct to OKC and also to NO to buy the right ride and learn the car on the way home.
I chuckle about those that are lost on that experience, especially when great roads are on the route!!

I attached the list of upgrades in the package. Surprisingly,,, mine didn't come with the Roush CAI. That cost an extra $400. Which I eventually replaced with an Injen CAI. Then,,, I went Ape-Shit and threw all the Hp upgrades at it.

The seats are amazing. It runs & handles like a beast. I had to take the Sync3pos out and replace it with a Linkswell. Then I went on a "bright light" phase... which is nearly complete.

The drive was amazing !!!
I started at 6am and drove my Audi S5 to Kileen so I could trade that money pit off. I took the 85 mph toll roads (at 94 mph). No other cars or cops (toll road)... so I cruised 400 miles in just under 5 hours.

Once I got the keys and settled in to the truck,,, I let Google Maps take it from there. The entire trip from the dealership to Port Charles, LA was poorly lit county roads that were long and virtually abandoned. I drove through the night with my high beams on and rarely ever saw another car. It was like my fantasy about being the last person on earth and driving whatever I want,,, however I want,,, and wherever I want.

I had experienced many of those moments driving my C5 CC 2 times!
Chat later Tim, bedtime for bonzo here ?

I love the power.... but the Linkswell is probably my favorite modification. HUGE audio upgrade over stock. EVERYTHING you could ever want comes in the box. And I did it myself in my driveway. And I am not a mechanic.

I hated Sync3 because it would always disconnect from my phone... even when it was plugged in via USB. It was unstable and ugly and tiny. And asshole Ford decided to put big screens in all the new Rangers which made mine feel "dated". Never had another 'connection' issue since the upgrade. I'm an Android guy but the Apple stuff is the same. Much more reliable.

There are cheaper options on Amazon & Ebay but ALL those people seem miserable with their purchase. And when they need customer service,,, it's on China time. You'd have to call at 4am to reach someone that can't speak a word of English. Linkswell is US based. Check their YouTube channel or Facebook page. They are super helpful if you have question. They always responded when I would PM them on Facebook.

Added bonus,,, it's a huge Android Tablet that can run damn near any app you can get on your phone. I have,,, Hulu, Disney+, Paramount+, Netflix, Prime Video, Plex, Spotify, SiriusXM, etc.... I watch live college football games in my truck when I have to work on Saturdays in the fall. My Linkswell also has: it's own SIM card,,, cell number,,, Google account,,, and WiFi hotspot. The Linkswell is basically a huge cell phone integrated into the vehicle. And,,, I can make the UI anything I want it to be.

My wife and I did a northwest trip with our 22 ft Airstream in 2023 that was 10,000 miles hitting Badlands NP, Yellowstone NP, Olympic NP, Jasper NP, Banff NP and Glacier NP.

This year we did a 9,000 mile trip to the southwest hitting Aransas NWR (TX), White Sands NP, Painted Desert/Petrified NF, Grand Canyon NP, Zion NP, Bryce Canyon NP, Monument Valley Navajo TP, Mesa Verde NP, Capital Reef NP, Grand Staircase-Escalante NM, Canyonlands NP, Arches NP, and Great Sand Dunes NP.

The truck did fairly well as long as long as I controlled the rpm to 3,500 when climbing up at 9,000+ feet.
Some pics from our trips are attached:
- Badlands NP Rainbow
- Yellowstone Wolf
- Whooping Crane with Snake at Aransas NWR
- Milky Way at Arches NP
- Ranger and Airstream driving thru Valley of Fires Recreation Area, Roswell, NM

Great trips, great truck!

Mark

I drove my 2005 Ranger 4.0L from Boston,MA to Orlando ,FL (about 3,000 miles. down and back.) Suitcases in the back seats. It carried a bed full of snow all the way to the Carolinas before it finally melted. .
I have not taken any trips in my new 2024 Ranger .......yet but I can guess that mpg's will be so much better next time since I have a 2.3L now.
