  1. Strange problem with 2019 infotainment system

Agree completely! They should still shut things down to preserve battery power, but provide a message/prompt regarding battery replacement. God knows, they have a lot of other, less critical, messages flashing at us!
  2. No History in Map Software

I updated Sync3 and it solved my problem ... at least so far ...
  3. No History in Map Software

Good idea. I have a charger already. When I did it last time I didn't realize it was going to take so long.
  4. No History in Map Software

I agree, but I may buy anyway. I bought a 5-year download (I think it was $199), which I think covers 3 downloads. It took a while to upload to the truck ... might have cost $199 in gas ...
  5. No History in Map Software

Thanks for the reply. General consensus is to update Sync3, which I'll do, then make a decision about the map.
  6. No History in Map Software

Thanks for the reply. I'll update Sync3.
  7. No History in Map Software

I have 2019 Lariat and updated my Sync3 and map files this past April. My current Sunc3 version is "3.4 Build 22252_PRODUCT" and my current map version is "NA 2 21". I assume the “2 21” means it’s from Feb 2021, but not sure, and that seemed strange considering I did this more than 2 years after...
  8. Long Term Towing Experience - Wear

Yes, I saw that note after I re-read the manual after my trip ... a little late, but better than never. Thanks
  9. Long Term Towing Experience - Wear

Yes, I will try premium next time. Although it overheated, it never felt sluggish. I did go a little slower (50-55) over the Rockies when it was very steep. I always use "Tow Mode" when towing. It has always downshifted what I felt was appropriately. It was definitely in the 4th to 6th range...
  10. Long Term Towing Experience - Wear

I have a 2019 Lariat crew cab. I have about 29k miles towing a 22 ft, 4500 pound Airstream and consistently get a bit over 14 mpg towing at 60-65 mph. When it was new, I did a 300 mile trip and got 17 mpg going 50 mph (speed designated in manual for first 500 miles towing). Maybe the shape of...
  11. Oil change FUBAR.

Here's my experience, posted July 23, 2023: I'm 70. When I bought my 2019 Ranger in 2019 I decided to buy the Premium Maintenance Plan because I didn't want to be crawling underneath my vehicles any more (been working on cars since I was 15); I'm just not enthusiastic about the up and down on...
  12. Towing a travel trailer

It would help to have the trailer GVWR and tongue weights.
  13. Too old to change oil ?

My feelings EXACTLY! Where in TN are you? Just curious ... I was born in Chattanooga ... a long time ago! Mark
  14. Too old to change oil ?

I'm 70. When I bought my 2019 Ranger in 2019 I decided to buy the Premium Maintenance Plan because I didn't want to be crawling underneath my vehicles any more (been working on cars since I was 15); I'm just not enthusiastic about the up and down on the ground. I had the first oil/filter change...
  15. Temp Gage Functioning? And Overheating?

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if revving higher would be better or not; I'll keep that in mind next time I'm at a steep grade. My gross weight (from CAT Scale) was 9800 lb, so I was close. I guess I need to modify my driving a bit; take it a little more easy, and maybe go into lower gear (I...
  16. Temp Gage Functioning? And Overheating?

coolant is right where it Whenever I check it when engine is at operating temp, coolant is right between min and max. Just checked after sitting all night, and it's about 1/8" below min, but I think that's where it was after they replaced t-stat and sensor. I'll continue to keep a close eye on...
  17. Temp Gage Functioning? And Overheating?

Not sure I'd be able to do that while I'm still on the road. I saw a YouTube video of somebody revving engine to 3500 rpm for 30 seconds, then waiting 10 minutes, then again if still no heat from heater. I am getting heat, does this mean I don't have an air pocket? Yesterday, from Banff to...
  18. Temp Gage Functioning? And Overheating?

Also, not a lot of bugs in radiator. I have good heat coming from heater, does this mean I don't have an air pocket? Regardless, to be sure i don't, how would I bleed coolant system of possible air?
  19. Temp Gage Functioning? And Overheating?

After they put the reservoir in and we started driving, the heater was set to 85 degrees, so I assumed this was done to eliminate air. T-stat was replaced for this problem. I assume they bled system. The dealer that replaced the T-stat and cylinder head temp sensor said the fan was functioning...
