I have to really push hard and wack the fuel funnel to insert. Have used it before and it slipped right in. Does the check valve have to be lubricated with WD 40 or something ?? I checked and there wasn't any debris obstruction. Just don't want to wack it again and break something.

You are doing something wrong if you are having to do that. Plus, why are you even using it ? I have never needed it at the fuel pumps.

Dare I respond ????
Yes, I must....
When inserting an oversize object into a smaller diameter hole, you should use some type of lubricant....
However, the smaller diameter of the funnel should slide right into the filler hole....without any lubricant...
Never try to "wack" it into the hole....maybe wiggle it a bit as you try to insert it. Wacking it will only cause possible damage to the funnel or the insert hole
I've used my funnel a few times just to make sure it and the gas can I carry works OK. My funnel has always just slid in to the hole without any obstruction....no jelly....ummm....lubricant needed !!!

Are you using the one that came with the truck?

Wait ✋️, I have a funnel ? Ford usually kept stuff like that after 2019... they kept the owners manual cover, and the engine cover, a little console thingy I think ?, probably other stuff too... they must have forgot about the funnel... IF I still have it, I'm tossing the damn thing and I DARE me to need it in the future...

I think its under the back seat last time I seen it 2 years ago, kept it figuring it would come in handy for putting gas treatment in?

Yep, used the oem funnel before a couple times driving the Alcan, without any problems. Now hard to insert. Tried wiggle, push hard, and all that, without success.
When I mentioned lubricant, I was referring to a hinge or something, not the whole funnel. Thanks for comments.

If a regular gas nozzle slips in without obstruction than the funnel should do the same.....

The funnel might have swelled- due to its storage location (heat) in a closed cab
