I know,,, right ?12 mpg! WTF thats crazy and I dont think 20lbs tires are the issue
if that was the case I would leave my 107lbs dog home, tell my 125lbs girlfriend she is now costing me to much LOL a full tank of gas at 8 lbs per gal is 150 lbs, and with my 285/75 and 2000lbs behind me I still ave 18 no tune is worth 5mpg! I took a 3000lbs trailer to Denver in a V6 explorer and got 12 and I kind of understood that being the engine had 1/4 of a million miles on it .....
I havent noticed any acceleration hits, I am over 100 at least once a week and race other vehicles and havent been beat yet....
12 mpg is insane. That was the trade off for wanting more power on 33's. I haul nothing but a 70# boxer and a 20# pug. I do have a very heavy foot. I did a 400 mile trip recently that was 95% highway and I averaged 19 mpg. But my daily driving consists of a stoplight every mile.
On a normal day,,, which involves me going to work (6 stops) followed by me sneaking out of work to go home for my beauty nap (6 stops) followed by me sneaking back into work when nobody is looking (6 stops) followed by me going back home for lunch (6 stops) followed by me going back to work (6 stops) and finally ends with me driving home (6 stops)...
Therefore,,, I accelerate from a dead stop 36 times each day.
