Not today but the last thing I got in the mail was a letter from the NJMVC (New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission). They want there $75, for yearly registration.
That’s cheaper than the $91 per year they want in Vermont.
But they use that to keep the roads nice and smooth don’t they ?.
Brian
Damn. Mine is still $250. Colorado sucks.

Try registering in California. Every truck is considered a commercial vehicle so you pay higher fees, unless you can prove it's for recreation only (permanent camper shell/RV).

Last year my reg was $511 for my 5yr old Ranger. I must be rich.

Here's a quick rundown:

Standard Registration Fees (for reference):
  • Registration Fee: $68 (includes a $3 alternative fuel/technology fee).

  • Vehicle License Fee (VLF): 0.65% of the vehicle's value.

  • CHP Fee: $30.

  • Smog Abatement Fee: $20 (for vehicles six model years and newer).

  • County Fee: Varies by county.

  • Transportation Improvement Fee: Varies based on the vehicle's value, from $29 to $206, according to DMVdesk.
Commercial Vehicle Fees:
  • Weight Fees: Commercial vehicles are assessed weight fees based on their unladen weight, declared gross vehicle weight (GVW), or combined gross weight (CGW).

  • VLF: Still applies, calculated at 0.65% of the vehicle's value, according to the DMV.

  • CHP Fees: $54 for Commercial Vehicle Registration, according to the DMV.

  • Transportation Improvement Fee: Similar to standard vehicles, but can be higher due to the vehicle's value and weight.

  • County Fees: Also vary by county.

  • Other Potential Fees: Depending on the vehicle and its use, additional fees like the CARB's Clean Truck Check fee might apply.

Looks like you win so far.
At least you have nice weather most of the time.

Yup also tie that in with what’s coming down the road in July… we in California have the freedom pay more money for things for no real reason.?

Great registration price, not so great insurance rate.
They always get you some way or another.

Well, when they see the word high-performance or WRX the price goes way up. i’m not complaining though it used to be much higher than that for us ..Roger on the “get you one way or another….”

I still gots reg to pay in New Hampshire. =(

But starting next year, I'll save $40 on each car for state inspection.

They're dropping that, no more car inspections!

I guess there wasn't enough "die" going on for our state motto:

I went to Franconia a notch when I was a little kid, and I saw the old man in the mountain and rode on the aerial Tramway..

Well not in the mail, but I did score a killer deal on this Front Runner footwell water tank off my local FB marketplace. Im pretty excited about it. It now more than doubles the water I was carrying on camp trips, will keep my daughters legs from dangling, keep my water weight low and out of the heat/sun.

Muddy paw prints everywhere make me so happy i got seat covers when i first took ownership of the the truck.
