I switched to the expensive gas and used half the amount of gas as I did with the cheap gas. Ever since then, I have always used 93 octane gas and it has saved me sooooo much money.
Half the gas? Lol. Nope.

Amazing that you have the only ranger that gets 46mpg

If you have to go to fuckbook to reach him. It ain't worth it! Unleashed has a sight you can order anything from. Email any questions through. The proper way to do business. I HATE fbook.
I don't buy anything that I have to contact someone to buy. Lol
Like insurance, for example, if I have to talk to a person to get insurance, I'm not choosing that company. IDC if they'll save me money.

Well I had a Ford Fiesta at the time. I only went to work and home. I got gas 3-4 times a month and when I switched to premium, I only had to get gas twice a month, every other week.

I get 37-38 mpg in my ranger.

Then you better buy the ford tune. Every other tuner needs your input to make the truck the way you want it. So buy a ford tune and live with the results. I myself want my vehicles tuned to my desires. I'm out no way to help now!

I did that with my 1st tuner. Got it from Steeda. SCT BDX tuner with pre-loaded tunes. It was a huge improvement over stock. But it wasn't giving me enough because my truck is a 2022. The "off the shelf" tuners leave a lot to be desired because they go overboard playing it "safe". Due to some bullshit law,,, they're only allowed to unlock ½ the power in my 2022 as they do in the 2019-2021's. We run the same drivetrain ? That pissed me off so I went to a human tuning expert that has done this many times by hand. I believe experience and personal service is a bonus. He built my tune with my modifications considered. And he re-tuned it when I made suggestions. I would consider it as good as it can get right now without doing a turbo upgrade, injector upgrade, or engine internals. I wouldn't mind lining up with someone who had all the same mods running the Ford Performance tune. That would be interesting.

I don't care at all about speed or acceleration. If I was, I'd get a car. I just want more power for towing.

I truly don't understand why everyone is so obsessed with the 0-60 of their car when they're just going to be accelerating from a stop at the same speed as ever single other car on the road.

0-60 is a decent way to tell if the money you spent was worth it. I don't race stop lights. I just like having a responsive truck vs. one that struggles to get moving. Example: this screen shot was my last 0-60 with my SCT BDX tuner. That tune was a huge improvement over stock and I ran a 6.07. Nine hours later, I went back and did my first 0-60 pull with my new RA tune and knocked off 0.9 sec. That doesn't make me drive to work any differently. But it does validate my stance that an "off the shelf" tune not going to give you everything your truck is capable of (safely).

I drove like a Grandpa, which is why I get such good fuel economy. Lol I care about saving money and towing capability.
I feel ya. My center guage is my Avg. MPG. I stay at speed limit +3mph. But every now and then I need to merge into traffic and that is NOT a problem for me when I go WOT for 3 seconds.

When I'm on the highway, I go 55 mph, on cruise. I get to where I'm going at the same time as everyone that goes 70-80, but I'm less stressed and I save a ton of money, which also prevents stress, as well. I merge going 55; let them pass and get behind them. Anyone behind you has brakes and/or they can change lanes. It's all about timing. (I use to be a trucker)

No one is going to ask the 'how big is your trailer?' question?

Personally, if you're going to be towing a lot, I would skip the tune. There are several of us that tow(ed) fairly heavy with the Ranger and none of us has a problem getting up to highway speed, or keeping up with traffic with stock tunes.

With a tune you're just running the engine closer to the edge, and here in GA, you're dealing with higher temps and higher speeds on the interstate. I prefer to have some margin for error when I'm towing, especially with family on board.

--Edit--

Yes, I'm aware there are 'tow tunes'.

My wife and I are going to be getting a destination trailer. We're thinking about either the Timberwolf 20OG or something similar. We're not gonna be towing with it often. I used to be a trucker so I'm not too worried about towing, considering I go a max of 55 mph when not towing. But I'm more worried about the hills on the highway around the Appalachian Mountains.

That trailer is flat out too much for a Ranger. Full stop, tune or no tune, you need more truck. Especially given that it is flat on the front. I'm far from a weight police weenie, but that's just too much. It's not even a 'heavy half ton' trailer. That is a 3/4 ton+ one.

It's only 8294 lbs. It'll be fine. I've done worse.
