The amount of times I’ve told myself “these other guys are hauling 6-8,000lbs like it’s nothing! Don’t be a b*tch!” ? so far, so good.
Put those thoughts to bed… most of us who might have caused this implication.. have been towing for quite some time….on The forums we kinda are expected to read between the lines of sorts…”don’t be a bitch”= you’ll be alright just don’t do anything stupid…”what!? Are you retarded???” = you should’ve asked for help, yes we will haze you, we will help you, and you’ll get good information dumbass too help you raise up to be a smarter dumbass.. so you’re not a stupid F**k… idk how you all were raised, however stupid f**k was the worst and would get you ostracized from the community..(ask me how I know ?… actually don’t.. I have enough self esteem issues?)

The Ranger has a maximum capacity of 7500 lbs for a reason. If it wasn't capable then it wouldn't be rated. It's the same idea for my 2012 Frontier. Yes the body has a maximum capacity of 6500 lbs, but the configuration is rated for 6100 lbs. Though I do have a Natural V6, it still does the job and that is thanks to how it was engineered.
Dang it frenchy ? I bet you hunted down cowboys in a past life….
Wouldn’t you agree an inline 4 turbo is like a NA v6… (after about 3,000rpm though)…
Idk my sr20 Nissan 240sx never lost to a na 350z.. so that why I have this philosophy.. those TT 300zx tho.. I’d have hope the track was tight turns and short straights

Hey guys, I’m noticing that my psi on my tires is around 4243 because it got really hot today driving through Minnesota. Is this something I should be worried about or plan to air down my tires? I normally have my tires around 40 psi maybe 39.

It is normal for tires to heat up while driving. That said the Cold Tire Pressure should be set to what the Door Placard states even while towing. Depending on what the truck came with from the factory it may be 30 or 38 PSI depending.

The truck says that it should be 39 for cold tire pressure currently my tires are reading 42 and 43. Do you think that is OK hauling a trailer?

If that is what the door Placard states then I would not be to concerned after driving. While driving the tires will warm up causing the pressure to increase by a few pounds and that is normal

Not to mention, I got my truck fully serviced before I left North Carolina so they definitely checked on my tire pressure and my tire quality before I left

Worst comes to worst recheck things in the morning. After the tire set still for quite a few hours it will cool down and be at cold pressure. Cold pressure is considered tires at ambient temperature. If it's 70° outside then you want to check tires when it's at 70°. If you've been driving and your tires are sitting around 100° when it's 70° outside, your tire pressures are going to read a little high.

I know this topic has been mentioned but just want to reiterate just how important it is.

MAKE SURE THAT WHEN YOU LOAD IT, THERE IS A BIAS TOWARDS EXTRA WEIGHT IN THE FRONT OF THE TRAILER AXLE(s).

This is something that I’ve known since I have been towing various things from a pretty young age. But not too long ago, my dad loaded my Polaris Ranger into the back of a utility trailer, but probably resulted in a load distribution of 60–40, with unfortunately the 60% towards the rear of the trailer.

I was excited because I had just put on the electric trailer brake controller, and wanted to see just how well everything went. Well, when you make some sort of turn at 55+ MPH, and potentially slower, the trailer acts terribly!

One turn will have the trailer add in 2 to 3 left to right or right to left movements, feeling completely dangerous! I was initially disappointed until I looked how the side-by-side was positioned. As soon as I shifted the weight towards the front, making sure it had a nice tongue weight, the problem disappeared and it truly towed like there was nothing behind it.

On YouTube, somewhere there’s a video that really shows what happens. It’s done on a treadmill with a small truck and trailer model or something. When a small turn is applied, the entire thing just moves left right left and it’s exactly what it does when actually on the road!

So if you distribute the weight properly, you will be golden!

I just know that I was wondering, where the hell is this trailer sway control? This is awful!

and then, set the Blindspot monitor up for towing, and put in the length of the trailer plus a margin of error, and you’ve got a neat little accessory for safety!

Hey guys! Sorry for the late reply, been busy but wanted to let y’all know I made it to Washington! 5.5 days, 3,000 miles, the truck was an absolute beast and everything with the trailer was solid, nothing happened and nothing moved. Nailed it!
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!

I have also made this mistake… I just call it towing “giggle”…. Mainly because when it happened to me I giggled and thought “oh F’k this feels dangerous.”
.. pulled off the road into a parking lot, made a call, got informed by a more seasoned buddy of mine (also harassed and insulted for being a dummy by him… it’s a teaching technique ?.), pulled everything out and reloaded correctly..awww that was years ago though. I never forgot that lesson…

? oh yes, the uncomfortable laugh… Totally get the feeling that this is dangerous as all hell!

It really is amazing how night and day it can be when it’s corrected!
