Seems like a difficult thing to screw up. You make a mold of an OEM pan, fill it with cast aluminum, polish a bit and send it off right? ? We'll see how it looks and proceed from there
People on the dodge forum and amazon said it leaked from the screw holes or seeped through the pan itself due to bad casting. I bet a cheap gasket is to blame for a lot of it.

I can not speak to the quality of the part, however, my father in law casts aluminum parts from his home foundry for among other things outboard motors. If the casting process is not strictly followed, the aluminum will be porous and oil will seep through. Much like a slow weeping.

Over the years several manufacturers of small 4 cycle engines used epoxy paint to seal aluminum crankcases.

I'm sure that we will know soon enough as folks began to install them.

Hopefully, Rockauto's not in the business of selling parts made in the garage...

Chinese home ownership is >90% of the population, so some might even have a garage and also running water. :)

Just read through this document. They had a lot to say. Sobering, and I think accurate.

Their upgraded valve body is more expensive than the entire 4x4 transmission from Ford. ~$3500

Below are a few of the key points.

Take Aways
  • Ford cheaped out
  • Valve Body is where the trouble begins
  • Fluid change Interval 25K miles
  • CDF Drum failure due to overheating
  • Transmission Pan too small and with poor structural characteristics and heat dissipation
  • Torque Converter causes extreme excessive heat - poorly manufactured with cheap materials
  • Don't expect 100K miles if you
    - tune your engine
    - go with oversize tires
    - don't change your fluid religiously

Ford 10R80 Transmission • Problems, Solutions & Upgrades
Man saw the owner on this interview when it came out, just seems to have a wealth of knowledge. I struggle with the pricing, not that is may not be worth it but just perhaps not worth it in a Ranger. If I had $10k for their trans, I would probably just get a Raptor Ranger instead. I say this as someone who LOVES their truck too and I even struggle with trading in for a RR if I could get one at MSRP.

I'm more concerned over 253 DOLLA saving lol! I don't do Tail of the Dragon runs with my truck so probably not a concern for me...I have in my basket for next month purchase...
But if you ever wanted to, you couldn’t. Need the baffling to keep the prepared for anything vibe your truck has.

Unless the laws have changed in China since I was there last in 2007, No one "owns" their homes in China, but they do lease them for 50-70 years.

We don't either, since we continue to pay taxes on properties that we already paid for...

From what I've read is the government owns the land and leases it as you state, but individuals own the house itself. different from the USA for sure, but don't get me started on real estate transactions here in the USA - helped my daughter acquire a townhome in Denver - where real estate has gotten very pricey but all of the inflated/non essential fees and other charges involved is out of control, things like HOAs allowed to charge a $350 "transfer fee" - which is no more than 20 minutes of effort, overnight document fees and so on, I was able to get several thousands of price reductions by refusing to pay the absurd fees that are heaped upon these transactions, contacted my state representatives and state real estate regulatory agency and they are next to worthless - except for the realtors and banks whom they cater to.

"Technically speaking, individuals don't own lands in China, you own the right to use the land. and this lease is 70 years long, within this period, the beneficiaries of the property would inherit the apartment/ house."
